The senate yesterday condemned the alleged killing of 11 members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital last Thursday by security agents. This is just as it mandated the Senate Committee on Police and National Security to institute a full scale investigation into the killings.

The resolution of the senate came through a motion by Senator Mao Ohuabunwa (PDP Abia North) on the gruesome murder of members of the Indigenous People of Biafra.

Senator Ohuabunwa who came under order 43 of senate standing rule bordering on personal explanation drew the attention of the senate on the incessant killing of members of the group, The lawmaker condemned the act of the security operatives as barbaric and lawless, adding that members of the group were harmless and innocent.

He said, “On Thursday 11 people were killed and 26 injured for no just cause, Mr. President , we are in a democracy and people must differ in opinion, that is the beauty of democracy, the killings is one to many , it happened in Onitsha, Aba and now Port Harcourt, it behooves on us to call the security operative to order.

I have roots from Rivers and Delta state . Which comprises of Ikwere , Urhobo and Itshekiri . So I'm within my rights when I said all what I did say . We do not support Biafra in our terotory . So as you can see, you dont care about the minorities, you dont care about what the Ogoja, Oron, Ananng, Itsekiri, Ibibio, Abi, Legbo and what the over 40 tribes in the south of Nigeria want. If you cared about what they want, you would want to hear them out, you eould want them to have a voice. It is a very rare thing for any of the minority tribes to have a say in Nigeria, so when someone like you claims to be from the minority but you cant even support a referendum that will give your ethnic group and other minorities a say, it means two things

I listen to radio Biafra most nights, I know how much the minorities are calling in, lamenting about Nigeria. The other day, part of Radio Biafra was in Urohbo language. Many Urohbo people calling in and pledging support for Biafra in Urohbo language, lamenting that Nigeria has stolen all their oil and Gas money. I dont even understand Urohbo but listend to the English translation and learnt that blood means the same word in Urohbo and Igbo. Few days later, the broadcast was in Ibibio language which I dont understand. There were many many callers from Akwa -Cross who called in to suppport Biafra. Many of them proud that their son was the last president of Biafra. Some of them fought on the Biafran side said they had no regrets since Igbos were the closest tribe to them.

Many Ikwrres now call in apologising like the prodigal son, some saying their parents decieved them. Ijaws call in and even Ogoni. Everybody is saying the same, that they are tired of Nigeria.

But it is you who says Biafra is only for Igbos, it is you who cannot support a referendum for the minorities which you claim to belong to, it is you who doesnt care what other minority tribes want, you dont even care about their right to self determination. It is you shouting Rivers and Niger Delta but cant say anything about how these peoples life will be better inside Nigeria.

Urhobos called in to say they foght in the civil war ahaha go ask your father history again. In the town of sapele there is a pry school called Crowder near teh market, More than 100 Biafra soldiers where burried there during teh civil war, these where biafrans cought fleeing from benin via sapele by the sapele people.Go and also ask your father cos it seems you are to young to know waht the war was about, ask him in Sapele, what use to be the name of the road now called Okpe road.it was Igbo road.it was changed during the civil war and there was such a thing called IGBO domination back then,these people where over joyed when federal troops came in,They just ask you to pronounce toro, which is half a pound back then, the Igbo man cos of thier mother tongue cant,the Fg troops know this and it was how they measured who is urhobo or son of the soil and igbos,FYI My grate grand father is from Sapele and I have solid roots from there too,You know you lot Igbos you all come from the 5 igbo states and you think you know jack shyte about others.
