Sad to hear about her passing.

I have just read two of her books..... Efuru and the Joys of Motherhood (which I read during my NYSC). Very interesting reads.

Both books feature women, ordinary women, confronting the changes in their world as a result of colonial rule and the modernism it brings. You get the idea that they adapt, and at the same time do not adapt.
my dear, efuru ws written by flora nwapa biko

Your knowledge of great African writers is limited.
Though I'm not here to perpetrate tribalism; but you can't mention African great writers by conspicuously eluding Cyprian Ekwensi, Elechi Amadi n the greatest of them all Chinua Achebe.

The ones you mention were powerful writers under the defunct African Writers Series AWS. But still remember Chinua Achebe was the protagonist of AWS

Did you read Number 5 and 6 where she said she's not a feminist?
Depends on when that was written. In fact she supports and upholds womanism. In one conference held a few years back she said she practices Feminism with a small f. Writing for women as a woman in a woman voice makes her a feminist or womanist. Womanism is African /African American version of feminism. It respects men and defined roles
