This is a landmark judgement that will see to the death of any plan by the FG to seize state lands for their grazing bill.

This is the only good thing LASG has done since 1999!

belongs perpetually to the Omoluabis. The judiciary is perhaps the only thing keeping Nigerians from going on rampage and taking out Buhari's intransigence on the murderous herdsmen.

Not a single claim of land ownership or rights of holding filed by FG has been won since this started back in the 70s. Even when Lagos was the seat of power and unfer military administration they lost the attempt to claim Lagos.

You are being very myopic in your assessment. The significance of this ruling is the effects it would have on the Land Use Act decree, enacted by the man formally know as the Navigator of APC aka OBJ. This took away the ownership of land from private individuals and gave it to the Government.

As it stands now, the land you call your own does not belong to you but to the Federal Government. If they want it today, they will legally take it. Of course, they will pay you compensation to the value of cash crops on it etc.

While you rejoice on "those who own Lagos" not owning Lagos, some of us hope that this is the beginning of the end of the land use act .

There are two types of C of O in Lagos.

Federal C of O (Ikoyi Land and Ikeja GRA etc)
Lagos C of O

Obtaining consent on Federal Lands or even registering a Survey is usually via the Federal Ministry, whilst that of Lagos is done via Alausa in Ikja.

What does this Judgement mean? That henceforth, any transaction on Federal Land should be consented by the State or What?

People didn't even bother to read the judgement. I weep for the future of our country if we continue like this.

Justice Dattijo Muhammad, who read the apex court’s lead ruling, agreed with the Lagos State Government that the court lacked the power to exercise its “original jurisdiction” in the suit because the Federal Government had “transferred its title in the land to others”.’

In other words, the land no longer belong to the FG so the court could not entertain the matter at the instance of the FG.

That is it!!!
If the FG has failed in it bid to have control over Lagos and it land. Then I feel sorry for these homeless ones that derives joy in referring Lagos a no man's land.
