This is same option as petroleum Engineering. Additionally, you may what to know what compose natural gas, properties, application and it formed. Sometimes, the questions are so practical and highly industry based. In the industry SI units are not used. American unit of Cubic feet , Psi etc are used. U may wanna know how to do conversion back and forth

Frankly speaking, you can't get past questions in your discipline for PTDF exams. What you should try to know is area of concentration for your field so you don't read amiss.

Section A was 40 questions. The questions were purely English questions. Section B was about 60 questions and it is based on the course you applied for. You should note that similar courses may write the same exams.

For instance Renewable Energy and Energy Systems had similar questions.

I can't remember exactly the time allotted for each section but the time is enough for someone that knows what he is doing.

@All, the past questions for individuals courses are not really around except when they were theory based. What is in common place is the general questions which are mostly current affairs in section one. I think last year was even different. What mostly came out was English plus a few maths questions ( to be confirmed). This section is only 20% of everything. So I just want you to know what you are up against.

What you should ask is to know the area each individual course concentrates it's question's on. Then find introductory book online to work at it.

Haven't said that, I hv only seen two real exam type question in ptdf yanked from the computer on the exam day. This one in not available in the public domain. I am not sure anyone that has it would send it to you. Don't read astray please

Many of the different course areas are grouped. So you can't just concentrate on one area alone. For example, Renewable energy would most likely be combined with energy systems and thermofluids.

The basic goal of energy is to know sources of renewable and non-renewable energy. Energy conversion from one form to another. what is the functional requirement for motor, dynamo and generators. You would also need to know the different energy cycle. Carnot cycle and efficiency, the purpose of reheating and rankine cycle. Fractional dryness ratio. Basic knowlege of the calculation on heat cycle. You would need to know heat capacity, specifific capacity, latent heat. You may also need to know potential and kinetic energy and their basic calculations.

These are areas any sensible expert on energy would like a basic person to know. This is the foundation of the course. Good luck

GIS would be combined with environmental engineering or Geology. Sorry, it is that bad! You guys are at disadvantage. But physics, chemistry are always part of the example. You may wanna check for introductory materials to these courses online. Google Pdf copy

If you have strong Knowledge of offshore operations, pipeline/riser/mooring lines and subsea related activities, you should be fine.
