Ekiti State governor, Ayo Fayose, on Monday said he will be partaking in the upcoming nationwide protest led by Innocent ‘Tuface’ Idibia.


In a post on his Twitter handle shortly after 10:00 p.m., Mr. Fayose said the organisers have his full backing to launch the protest which they said will be “massive”.
“To organisers of Feb. 5 “Enough is Enough” National Protest, you have my total support and I will be part of the protest,” the governor said.
Mr. Fayose is the latest public figure to queue behind the organisers of the demonstration, which is expected to hold simultaneously in different cities across the country.
Mr. Idibia, while announcing the protest last week, said the Buhari administration’s rudderlessness has left too many Nigerians languishing in poverty with little to be hopeful for about the future.
The police said they have been duly informed about the protest and will provide security for all participants, although the government called for patience and understanding amongst Nigerians.

Disappointed Nigerian people and the government at all levels. We don't need any politician to join the cause. It's a protest against every mishap that has occured in the land since inception.

Governor Fayose Pls we don't want u involved in our protest. U can plan urs for later. This is between us (masses and the government) Nothing to do with u. Pls stay away. This has nothing to do with any party or party member. We Nigerians r just tired of how hard life is and we want to tell Oga Buhari to resign if he can't make life better for us as promised.

Either it's PDP protest or not, Nigerians are suffering and we will not fold our hands and perish. The protest is a step in the right direction . I'm a member of the APC, but that does not mean my party is bigger than Nigeria or it interest be placed above national interest.

Every Nigerian has the right to engage in a peaceful protest irrespective of his/her party affiliation; they are only demostrating their constitutional right.

Nigeria is secretly being robbed of the revenue she's getting. Many federal civil servants are being owed even December salaries not to talk of January that just ended yesterday. Buhari doesn't know what is happening. His health is a big distraction

Good one, though I personally don't like fayose but this move is commendable. But I bet his good intentions will be dangerously misunderstood being that he is a hard critic of buhari and opposition sitting governor.

Use your brains, it was put in your head for a purpose! So to you now when anyone decides that things are too difficult in the country, they are automatically of the opposition?

Everyone deserves a right to protest. And if the PDP decides to join the protest, good and fine. No one goes to the market and presents a party card and gets things for free. We are all in this together.

My fears about this protest march had just been confirmed. This protest isn't what they make people believe it is and if the organizers were ever sincere, they've got all wrong already by allowing the politicians either PDP or APC to hijack it to their selfish gain and interest. It'll make so much sense and will generate so much impact if it is left purely with the masses.

Btw the likes of fayose are part of the reason this protest is very much necessary. The workers and pensioners in Ekiti State can't find this hypocracy/insensitivity funny at all.
