During Buhari's campaign, people had reservations about his capability because of his age. He was about 72 then. Some even said he wouldn't be alive to become the president even if elected. Others felt he wouldn't complete his tenor. But people, the man is till kicking, almost two years on.

But Donald Trump is 70. No one mentioned anything about his age. He was seen to be vibrant. A difference of two years may group two people in the same age category, you know.

Now I feel the following may be why some Nigerians reacted/react the way they did/do:

1. Some feel Nigerians are not sincere, especially with their ages. Where most workers have 'real' and 'official' ages. Meaning some Nigerians felt Buhari was far older than he claimed.

2. Some Nigerians felt Buhari was not sound enough healthwise, making him comparably older than he actually was.

Should age have been an issue in Buhari's case? Afterall, Mugabe is 90+.

Certainly, a president must be physically and mentally fit to stir the affairs of any nation.

The health of Hillary Clinton and Trump was raised during the campaign and debate.

Trump was given a clean bill of health except for being overweight.
Meanwhile Hillary Clinton had health scares, which made people question her capabilities.

In less than 2yrs, PMB has gone on medical vacations, right in d middle of a crushing recession, Kaduna killings, Fulani jihadist herdsmen etc.

The ability to make the right decision that will affect the lives of millions cannot be made from a 'sickler' president
