Tell us the year you gained admission and the department.
If you say you got direct admission from jamb, it therefore means you got admission before 2004. Because after that year, IMSU started giving admission through aptitude test.
To me the OP is not saying the truth cos he was supposed to graduate by 2008 and at most 2009 if it's faculty of agriculture and faculty of health sciences. So OP convinced me the more by uploading your jamb admission slip

You should know if your dean is giving you bullshìt he has a superior and you also have a VC who you can approach and discuss this with. Bringing it to nairaland wouldn't help you, it will only increase the numbers of sympathizers you have.

Please help!! Imo state university has refused to graduate me. I got my admission on merit and was given admission letter by JAMB, I never had exam malpractice or any cult case. My results is ok and presently with my HOD.

It all started after graduating in 2011 and the following year being 2012 my name came out for service and during my clearance I was told that I had the same registration no. With someone in another dept. And was asked to apply for another registration no. Which I did but due to the laxity of my dept. I was unable to go for service that period, and ever since my HOD has been promising sending my name for service for more than four 4 years he kept on giving one excuse or the other. I hv done everytin possible to see if I can get even if it is my certificate but it seems the HOD has sold my result, at a point he told me to go and write another jamb for no reason. I need you help my fellow nairalander.

I don't know how things are done in IMSU, but the general thing is that before your name comes out for NYSC, it means you have a result and have completed your clearance. Only students cleared by their department, faculty and registrar can have their names sent to NYSC.

Secondly, results of students sent for NYSC must first be approved by the school senate. At this point, all cleared results are final and subject to collection.

Thirdly, matric/registration numbers always comprise of year of admission/department or faculty/number, so it is almost impossible to to have two people with the same matric number. If this is the problem, then the two of you who have the same matric number should be in this predicament.

If you have been through lol these then you know you have no problem, ur HOD is just being either lazy or vindictive.

So gather urself together, write in a very official capacity to the Registrar of the school, the Dean of faculty, the Dean of Exams and records and the VC. Give them time to resolve it, letting them know you wish to take further ction.

After which you should sue the HOD, the department, the faculty, the registrar the VC and the entire schools in a joint suit. You have grounds bro. You have nothing to lose and make sure when you sue you ask for damages cos they have wasted 4years of your life you can't get back.
