Doesn`t he sound like the slave that he would always be? The people that are being oppressed in Cameron today were part of Nigeria before your international community took them out of Nigeria just before independence. Then Abacha went to the world court in the 90s leading to Nigerians in Bakassi being told that they are no more Nigerians, so you can see that you have done very well with your international community when it comes to adjudicating between you and other African countries; why won`t you continue to embrace it. ICC would continue to do to Nigeria what the world court has been doing before it. So, you have every reason to be a member. The rest of Africa need to know that, the political elites of Nigeria are too dull to lead them on any geo-political issues. South Africa has taken the lead on ICC, and that is the country to follow. Even the President of Rwanda is far more intelligent than an average Nigerian politician when it comes to global politics. Africa should learn to do the needful because following Nigeria blindly would be counter-productive |

davereal:Yea, that is why Tony Blair and George W. Bush had been prosecuted in London and Wshington for waging an illegal war. |

Just30:Yes indeed. But Anas did something some time back to expose your judiciary ![]() What do you have to say about that? |

Ugosample:You mean magistrates and a few high court judges. They are all out of the system and some of the cases they handled over a particular period of time will be reviewed on a case by case basis. It called continuous monitoring of people in authority Check the US justice system, there are huge corruption there but their citizens still believe in it and that's the difference. |

jpphilips:Well said. The major problem is the Veto Powers and if allowed to prosecute crimes of concern to the international community as you postulated, interests will always overshadow reasons and the world would have been drawn back to 19th century. The solution to me, is for UN General Assembly to checkmate the SC or rather pressure her to refer cases like Syria, and individuals like Tony Blair and Bush to the ICC. |

ATERI:Nice point bro! That's why I wrote: the accusation of bias should be directed to the SC and not the ICC. These individuals are outside the jurisdiction of the ICC, only the SC can refer their cases to the ICC like they did Al-Bashar of Sudan and Late Gaddafi of Libya. This where the accusation of neocolonialism comes in. But you will agree with me that African Leaders have failed us and have rendered our judicial system toothless. |

davereal:How many times have Russia and China instigated the prosecution of an African through the ICC? So the problem has always come from a country that refused to sign up to ICC, often supported by Britain and France. Fact is, the idea of ICC was good on paper, but implementation has shown what the West wanted from it. Under normal circumstances, a Continent of intelligent people would not have been part of the United Nations. Africa is the only Continent in the world that has and still being used to develop all other Continents. It has never caused any world war. It has never invaded and exploited any other Continents. What pre-requisites are we applying that would disqualify Africa from having a permanent seat at the SC. A race does not matter unless you are in the SC, and the UN means nothing without the SC. In other words, as long as the SC remains as it is, with each and every member having a VP, then nothing good can come out of it for Africa. The case against the ICC is clear and straight forward. It has become a tool of oppression in the hands of the Western hegemon. Africa should leave and I`m happy that the African Union gets it. The African Union has already given a cover for all African countries, only for the slaves of Nigeria to refuse. Northern Nigeria has politicians that still see the UK as their best ally while the slaves in the South would readily betray their country in order to serve America. Why do you think the former President of Gambia didn`t choose Nigeria as his refuge? Well, he still remembers what happened to Charles Taylor, betrayed on the steps of the White House by Obasanjo. Nigerians are born to follow, nice to see that a couple of African countries have worked that out. |

davereal:There is a reason why the Bushes, putins and Obamas of the world are not mere world powers but super powers right? |

Just30:When you start a response with "are you insane?" then write few lines of ignorance, it shows that you wish to abuse your curse as an unintelligent member of the public, dont wish for further promotion. |
