Apply for visa interview appointment and wait for them to give you a date for the interview. But I would advise you not to wait for that before you send another application for the block account. Because your interview date might be 2, 3, or 4 weeks from now. Shalom

Do yourself good by reading few pages backward, believe me you will have less questions to ask if you do so. A link to daad was posted in just a page backward which is actually the first step for you. The people that got admissions to Kiel are going for summer while yours is winter. I have seen the white raven, winter is coming. Just read only this part 3 and thank me later. Shalom

I don't get. You are going to Lagos on Monday to open block account.

1. Have you book for an appointment to that effect?
2. Have you fill the block account form and also show it to people that have done it before for vetting?
3. Do you know/have the required documents needed for the block account opening?
4. Do you have the statement of account of about #4million naira?
5. Have you bought the international courier envelope addressed to DB? (14k-16k not sure)
6. Do you know you will have to pay certain amount of money (6k-8k not too sure) at the embassy for the opening of account certification?
If your answer to any of the above questions is "NO", then you will have a date with Paulinus at the embassy gate on Monday.

Write down these points and begin to work on them one after the other till you get to the final part. Shalom

Block account opening doesn't take much time now,probably because there aint much application forms during summer. it took d db just 3 working days to send my account details. My application arrived Hamburg on friday last week, I got the account detail on wednesday dis week...

please stop spamming the thread with this same question over and over again clearly your intention is not to study in germany. there are more than enough pages from part 1 to part 3 for you to read and make an informed decision.

Can i use this slip to apply for the student visa while waiting for the block account opening confirmation from Deustch Bank.
Also do i need to include my marriage certificate in the visa requirement docs (though it was not part of the required docs).

Please help answer a newbie. i am to resume Otto-Von-Guericke Universitat by this April.

You would need someone you really trust in Germany or elsewhere in Europe to help you with that and multiple account holders of the particular bank you intend to use and let me say, bank connections. I also tried the black and blue market but the rates quoted, even by sellers on nairaland was too much and there was the risk of someone running away with my money.

Skye bank currently allows moneygram transfer and I have used it since December to receive a total of about €5000 from Nigeria. And the last rate was about 400 to 1€ minus charges.

Here is how it's done.

First, You are only allowed to use your account once in 3months for a total of about N380k. So therefore, if you are sending much money, you will need multiple account holders with the bank who will allow you to use their slots. I have used about 7.

Secondly, you will need someone or people YOU REALLY TRUST in Germany or elsewhere to help you take the money from Money gram's office and deposit into your account. This is because I doubt the bank will send multiple transfers to a bank account (You can try though).

Lastly, a branch is only allowed two transactions per day and of course there are backlogs. This is where the connections come in. I didn't have connections though, all mom did was to make sure she begged at the bank and told them how important the transfers are and basically I received in 3-5 working days.

If you are Ok with the stress and the procedures involved, I would really recommend it. It is faster than Form A or dorm transfer and will save you about 1 million if you were to use the blue or black market rates.

Because I thought the funding should be from accounts you used as sponsors
So let's assume I moneygram the money to my friends account in Germany, can he still fund my block account from Germany? And DB won't flag it cos he isn't my sponsor?

A Blocked Account or Sponsorship does not guarantee issuance of a visa rather it is a combination of factors like a good interview at the embassy, showing your intent to really study, intent to return, providing required personal, academic and financial documentation which is where your blocked account or Sponsorship comes in to prove that you have adequate finance for your studies in Germany
