Please my 2008 Outlander has P1777 DTC code, faulty stepper motor...I need help with this. Every mech is saying change the gearbox.

It might be valve body assembly, you might need a new gear box.
Your mechanic might be right.

thank you... I guess I have to start looking for money then. it drives fine at low speed, but can not go over 80km/hr

Hi nairaking1 I have 2010 outlander that without notice has stopped shifting gear. It has come up with a code p1777. I removed the valve body and have replaced the stepper motor, I will be finishing it of in the morning. Just wanted to know what came about your Trans. Did you get it fixed or replaced

Replaced with fresh oil and new stepper motor, transmission is working perfect again! Saved 8k on new one installed

Curious, though this is important to me. Is / was this car using the CVT or the 6-speed auto transmission? Is/was the Outlander a 4-plug or a V6? I hope you reply.

I have a similar case with my 2008 outlander. I have changed the gear but no improvement. Car starts with a very low gear(gear 3) and drags while moving. Anyone please help
