Dear Punch correspondent, if you know the 'blessings' of these people, you will quit joournalism and become a pastor fast.

Forget those salaries you are quoting. They are richer than you in all ways.

The more reason why members who are rich enough should always contribute to the welfare of both members and pastors alike. Its not all about sowing seeds and tithes into the Church. Pastors need assistance, too.

These men work with the spirit of volunteering.....it happens inall religions.....they work for the "greater good" and not monetary gain.

I have seen GMs who became just regular lower class citizens again 6months after they lost their jobs. Being financially comfortable in your employment does not equate to being rich.

In the past i would have been the first on this thread blasting the church for paying it's pastors so low but I have learnt that by doing so I am playing into the hands of Islam and those who want the church extinct .

No Christian should comment negatively on this thread , we must stand together in unity against forces bent on rubbishing the church in Nigeria , how many time have we heard about how much an Imam is paid . The press needs to mind it's business and stop meddling in the business of the church anywhere ..

Please sister stop condemning the body of Christ in public , have you ever seen a Muslim condemn Islam despite alll the bad associated with it ..In the past I would have been on this thread blasting RCCG but I noticed by doing so we are only killing christianity and making Islam grow ..Hope you know Islam is growing faster the Christianity and if we Christians continue in this manner Christianity might be extinct in 200 years ..No matter the shortcoming of your faith never again condemn it in Public ..

This is true. But the only issue is, Jesus Christ himself did not ride horses while his followers trekked. They were always together - If there was food they ate together, if there was a boat, they sailed together.
So in as much as the pastors are all working for the greater good, making sacrifices when there is scarcity of funds, they should also be well rewarded if the finances are available.

What they get from the church's members is more than 300k. God has a way of blessing them. The poorest one among them is far better than the writer.

Bible says lead us not into temptation, normal human can go into temptation when situation gets hard, I once told my pastor redeem church pastor oh to help me announce in church we needed a driver in our company, the pastor started begging me to fix him, he said I should forget he is a pastor, he told me the same story with op, he even sent his wife to talk to me, I cried, there is nothing I could do, because I'm also poor. When policy changes affect their business. When forex paralyzes their operation

Being stupeed is personal , it is not a group characteristics. Those GMs might just be unique.

I have seen multi millionaire GMs, they retire them or sack them with several millions compensation.

Yes Onyoche we can raise these38 issues up in the church and not in public filled with enemies that want to see the down fall of the body of Christ ..It's is also our duty as Christians to sow into the lives of our cleric who have sacrificed a lot to do what they do ..The work of God has always been sacrificial in nature , even Christ paid the ultimate sacrifice for this religion called Christianity to be berthed today ..
