Nigeria!!! When are we going to change our mentality of celebrating thieves?
A 7year old was burnt to death because he stole a blackberry phone. And this is someone that looted state funds in billions getting a state welcome.
Nigeria!!! Where is our dignity? This is so painful. I am assuring Nigerians that as long as we include favoritism in politics the country will get worse. A thief is a thief, be it PDP or APC. We should evaluate corruption on same level, even if it's from a family member. That is the only way out of this smelly mud we are in today.

Also, I want to assure Nigerians that the moment we (starting with you and me today) make that conscious and painful effort to deny corruption and stop praising thieves in government, Nigeria will be a sort of heaven. You will get constant light for months or years (uninterrupted), People will queue up to be treated in Nigerian hospitals, You will call 911 and the police will be at your doorstep in minutes. I am not just saying these words. You reading this will think it is magic.
Let us shame thieves. Let us fight corruption. Let us take pride in being Nigerians. When you travel outside the country you would ask yourself, "Are we built differently as Nigerians?" Did God cheat us? Or do we simply enjoy this situation? This is so painful to me because the problem of Nigeria is one of the easiest to solve and yet people are dying everyday by the minutes. The roads are taking lives because of corruption on the highways.

I am tired, but won't give up. Give no bribe to anyone. Let them take you to that police station because you didn't give bribe. When the system notices that people are resisting corruption, then things will begin to unfold in a better way. Don't give a policeman N100 because you think he is not paid well. It is not your job to pay the Nigerian police. Let everyone do his or her job. The Nigerian police should demand accountability and decent remuneration from the related agency, NOT you on the road. It is not your duty to pay police. This is difficult, but if you are caught doing wrong, you should choose the option of paying the price or penalty involved. I want anyone reading this to make that commitment.
The problem with Nigeria is not to be solved by religion or praying. WE have prayed, we won't stop praying. I am a Christian. But we need to have a practical approach to the situation.

Yes, Ibori's regime witnessed massive social and economic activities to the advantage of deltans. After him, there has been nothing for deltans. This is the the basis of deltans love for the thief. The people have become victims of poor options whereby they celebrate the best of all evils. Our people have apparently given up hope of any righteous government. In all truth, there is no foundation for the present celebration rather there should be Lamentation for the bleak future of black Nigeria.

I really couldn't read all our comments on Ibori being an *HERO*or _a thief_ but my positions are as follows
Ibori did a lot for not just his own people of Oghara but Deltans
Ibori created ministries and jobs
He helps people
He is not afraid
He makes decisions that favours and blesses
During Jos crisis, I had a friend there, she came back safely because of Ibori. Ibori sent high powered delegation with security to pick all Deltans especially students. The team brought them home
Ibori paid students bursary throughout his tenure
He paid salaries before 25
He even sometimes pay 13th month
He felt our pains and needs and go to provide them
He fought for courses that are beneficial
He fought against the powerful.
He transforms.
I imagine him in Jonathan's shoes, Niger Delta for don blow.
And will still be ruling now.
If a thief can do these, what are the saints waiting for?

Please this is not borne out of shared ignorance or sentiments, it's just how I see him. *_Ibori na Man_* , *Odidigboigbo 1 of Africa*
If I have the means I would scream on top of my voice and welcome him

You are celebrating your own thief,Tunubi. Buhari and the north are celebrating their own thief Abacha,Ibb,etc,Buhari said that Abacha did not steal any money,so they will also say Ibori did not steal.
Allow them to celebrate their own thief in peace as it is done in the other part of the country.

Since when did two wrongs make a right? Why can't we all unite and condemn corruption be it from our tribe or elsewhere? Stealing is stealing whether it is in Hausa or in IBO.

This is one of the reasons why Nigeria is still poor. Its because of its difficulty attractting foreign investment because of the high levels of corruptiin. Who want to put there money in a country where they are not sure they can get it back.

I don't support stealing. But for those who call Ibori thief, are they really in any moral position to do so is they have done worse things.
