have thought of the police being there to ensure safety of the protesters?
If they (FG) wants to stop the protest, I think they will make use of the Army and Civil Defense

I believe this government is showing everyone that it is indeed run by a civilian dictator.

Re: Photos Of Armed Policemen At The National Stadium Ahead Of The Planned Protest by praisekeyzz(m): 8:41am On Feb 06, 2017
They can show up in millions for a peaceful protest, but won't show up if armed Robbers are operating.
Re: Photos Of Armed Policemen At The National Stadium Ahead Of The Planned Protest by zendy: 8:42am On Feb 06, 2017
Im happy about this, I want Nigerians to feel what IPOB feel when they go for their protests. And if the Police open fire like they do at most IPOB rallies, maybe Nigerians will start asking serious questions such as, "Are security agents paid to shoot unarmed people?"
Re: Photos Of Armed Policemen At The National Stadium Ahead Of The Planned Protest by princestars(m): 8:42am On Feb 06, 2017
hmmmm....that is why the core north is always ahead, they are very united. if this protest is to be staged in Kano against an opposition federal government. the police, army will even join the protest and ensure that it is very peaceful and striking

IPOB IS A TERRORIST GROUP LIKE ISIL/BOKO HARAM.

tankara1010:
You didn't post this all these while IPOB have been gathering to express a simple right as "freedom as assembly" let alone protest.

grin g7 does not include UK or any European country?

People should invest in reading elementary science and geography before shouting Nigeria is finished up and down

AngelicBeing:
These are some of the reasons that l suggested that Nigeria should be auctioned on e-bay and sold to either the g-7 industrialized nation or to UK or any European nation that is willing to buy,Lets not deceive ourselves, this entity called Nigeria is not working, the earlier we realize this the better for us, tell me one basic thing the masses are enjoying at the moment.

Someone said that if you want to see how HELL looks like, go and live in Nigeria , l agree, this union is not working, since 1960 after our colonial masters left, Nigeria has never been able to get it right, the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer, suffering and smiling , looting, corruption, ineptitude, injustice, kidnapping and the like, it has been from one crisis to the other, what a country, it is better to be a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th class citizen in the West or a country where things are working than remain in this zoo called Nigeria, Nonsense sad sad

Enough supporting PDP or APC.

These Old corrupt men do not care about anyone else.

We also are not helping the matter by supporting corruption.

There is an emergence of revolution - The New Nigeria Vanguard!

While many of us are sitting down by our keyboards complaining, other young, intelligent and resourceful Nigerians have begun taking steps.

We have no affiliations or sponsors.

We are young Nigerians who will defy the anomaly.

Do not be left out

THE REVOLUTION IS HERE!!!

This only fruit this protest would bare is violence...it cant force anyone to do anything better...if we really want things better...the same enery used in gaining momentum for protest could be used to practically solve our internal problems...we always expect Government to provide jobs but we are too lazy to see thru how we can communually create one. If this movement is able to independently solve problems without much or no influence from the Government...then u can force them to make changes because by then we would have been well equiped. Now the best we can do is make more noise that can at best create bigger divisions and ultimately more violence

madridguy:
Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted in 1948, states that: Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.

Breach of the Peace

The police also have the power to arrest people if they feel a breach of the peace has been committed. The police can also stop demonstrators if they suspect that a breach of the peace may be about to occur. The use of anti social behavior orders and dispersal orders have also been used to either prevent individuals from protesting or to break up protests. It is very important for protesters to use reasonable conduct during protests to ensure that the police are not given any reason to use force to break up a protest.
everyone have freedom of expression but in a situation where by the protest could lead to violence or break down of law and order, the police can intervene so as to ensure peace. Am totally in support of the cancellation of the planned protest. Has anyone thought of the clash that might occur if those protesting in support and those against the government clash. In actual fact, there are some freedom that needs to be limit. #IStandWithNigeria
