I watched Justice League: Dark animated some days ago. Of a truth, it was more of batman than justice league. I felt scammed by Warner Bros...lol. I'll rate the movie 8/10 though. I was impressed with Etrigan and Zatanna though...

Warner Bros made a whooping $4.5 billion dollars on DC comics merchandise in 2016 alone! I heard that the Harley Quinn, Wonder Woman and Batman toylines generated bulk of this profit. Now, this is excluding box office profits from live action movies like BVS and Suicide Squad and DVD/Blu-ray sales in 2016. Who says box office is the only source of income?

For records' sake, BVS: Dawn of Justice ranks in the top 60 DVD movie sales so far in 2017 and top 30 Blu-ray sales for the same period. This is close to 10 months after the movie was released!

Bruce Wayne could quit Batman. Sorry, Ben Affleck could quit Batman role; like he wants out, badly. A rumor started by John Campea.

Hahaha, that's not possible, dude. Ben Affleck signed over 5-year contract with Warner Bros. Terminating the contract can mess up his career! The real issue here is that "Live by Night" flopped and this is causing serious problems for Ben Affleck. The movie made less than 20% of its budget. Besides, Affleck was involved with the shooting and production of over five movies in 2016 alone. This placed a lot of pressure on him too.

i hope so. Ben quitting the role proves the media right at 1st when they gave reasons for him not to be cast as Batman. I never supported Affleck as Batman but then bvs and SS came and i was...Bleep Christain Bale. Ben's batman but rumours going on by John campea who 1st stated Bvs and SS would be a mess <which critics proved right> makes me wonder if i was right all al0ng on my dislike for Affleck playing Batman. Leaving just because things went bad for him or cos the Dceu isn't well recieved doesn't board well for us. Am starting to think the studio should've went with Joe mangiello as batman in the 1st place. Atleast he's happy and enthusiastic playing deathstroke.

Like I said, I don't think DCEU is the problem of Ben Affleck. He's going through a lot of personal problems: His marriage problems at the moment which may lead to divorce, his movie "Live by Night" flopped big time at the box office and to cap it all, there's too much pressure on him with "The Batman" project. That's a lot of pressure for him, dude. I think he needs to clear his head and he perhaps feel he should stay out of limelight for a while.

BOX OFFICE: LEGO BATMAN WINS SEQUEL SHOWDOWN


This weekend, Hollywood sequels showered down on the multiplexes and pumped in over $132M worth of new business into a marketplace that needed a boost. The Caped Crusader and pals led the way as the animated comedy The LEGO Batman Movie debuted at number one with an estimated $55.6M. Warner Bros. generated a solid $13,609 average from 4,088 locations – the most theaters ever for a February release.

Though big, it was still a 19% drop from the $69.1M launch of The LEGO Movie from three years ago this same weekend. That hit featured the Dark Knight in a supporting role. The new PG-rated toon earned good reviews from critics and a nice A- grade from audiences polled by CinemaScore. With next weekend being the long Presidents Day holiday frame, and most schools closing for winter beaks throughout the month, there is plenty more for LEGO Batman especially since there are no other major offerings for kids across the next four weekends.

LEGO Batman scored the seventh largest opening weekend ever in February just ahead of the $55.4M of The SpongeBob Movie from two years ago on this same place on the calendar before finishing with $163M. The new Bruce Wayne toon tale may certainly end up in the same vicinity, or maybe higher. Overseas, LEGO Batman grossed an estimated $37M from 60 markets this weekend with China, Australia, and Japan still to come.

Meanwhile, Matt Reeves' is set to direct The Batman movie with Chris Terrio and Ben Affleck as Screen Writers.
