Sorry I haven't been back to the post to reply you earlier. To find the best moisturizer without petrolatum or mineral oil, you will have to read the ingredients labels on the products. As I mentioned before, I went to the store and checked out most all the well-known brands here in the States and they contained petrolatum or mineral oil. The only product I saw that did not was Johnson's Body Care Forever Fresh Refreshing Lotion. I purchased it and when I used it, I found that my skin felt dry again after a few hours. I really think this had to do with the papaya kojic acid soap that I was using at the time (because kojic acid can really dry the skin, and its important to find a really hydrating moisturizer when using kojic acid products). I think the Johnson's lotion would have been perfect if I didn't need a more intense moisturizer at the time. Also, I like the smell of the lotion - soft, clean, floral, powdery smell, not heavy at all. I would say shea butter is a good moisturizer. Search at stores that sell natural products or online to find shea butter. Burt's Bees is another brand that has natural products and lotions and moisturizers that do not contain petrolatum. Hope that helps.

wow i knew there were alot of skin bleachers in africa, i never knew that it was to this extent

skin bleaching is like a lifestyle from reading these posts, in other words "the norm"
all this talk of getting darker or lighter is nonsense
you are born one color and you may get darker because of the sun, but nothing makes a person of beyonce complexion to become michael jordan's complexion NOTHING!
this is self hatred at its finest.
we are still slaves to our colonial masters, how sad.
emancipate yourself from mental slavery ----words of Bob Marley
p.s. growing up going to nigerian parties i always wondered why all these women have light faces and dark hands and knuckles, now I know
Thanx for educating me.

Hi guys.
I just read all these articles and I couldn't hold back but react to it.
There has been a question running through my mind for a long time. Why is it that when people-blacks especially talk about skin bleaching, toning or lightening(it has all sorts of names),most people regard it as an indication of ''low self esteem''.Meanwhile, when we go to the saloon and get fake hair, people see it as ''looking good''.When whites tan their skin, its just ok.
My point is this, our main concern should be telling others of the consequences of skin bleaching and not see it as "low self esteem".
If someone feels good in making their skin light, well, let them go ahead. But let them be aware of the effects. Its that simple!
All said and done,
Now,let me talk about the effects of bleaching. In all you do,avoid using hydroquinone, mercury and steroids on your body.It damages the skin and makes you prone to cancer. You know that whatever you use on your body goes into your blood stream. You don't want mercury in your system, it can lead to kidney failure. Then, have you noticed that most people who bleach kind of look ''thin"?Well, that is because they use steroids.Steroids thins the skin! Do not use it.They are mostly found in some of these cheap tubes, stay way.
What I will advice is to use natural products if you care to lighten your skin.Carrot, lemon, tomato, almond, honey, kojid acid, they are safe.
Now,the sun is harmful whether you bleach or not.Dark or light skin. But the effect is more obvious on light skin because they are fair.So avoid the sun when you can and use sun screen.
Okay now,
Someone was asking for good lightening soap, well,I know of:
1)SO white of Fair and white. It is good and works well.It contain microballs that exfoliate the skin and it smells so lovely.
2)Bel Claire too is good.It contains apricot balls. Also good at exfoliating.
3)Makari de Suisse exfoliationg soap.
4)Fair and White soap(either the white or the orange)
5)Eclat total
All these soaps have exfoliation seeds, remember,to keep the skin looking healthy,be you fair or dark, you need to exfoliate it to remove the dead cells. That way, your skin looks fresh and young.
For those of you who are dark and want to stay that way, you can use
1)Eden soap
2)Apricot soap.

In all you do guys, just take good care and take your time.It doesn't help trying to lighten over night. You want to look admirable and not ''weird''.
The skin cells rejuvenate after atleast 28 days.So you should be seeing results at most after a month.

I will be glad to answer more questions,
Nice day!

When choosing a skin cream, we should know that the Best skin lightening, bleaching or toning cream for one skin may not be the best for another skin.  So it all depends on the individual in question.  You should try and find out the skin bleaching cream that is best for you skin

Most people try to improve their skin working from the outside by applying soaps, creams, lotions etc. Most of these products have harmful chemicals in them and can pose serious problems for their users. It is best to use natural products with natural ingredients. Moreover, beauty can and should be improved from the inside out. One of such products that have proven to be effective in toning and moisturising the skin naturally from the inside out is CoCollagen.

CoCollagen is a chocolate flavoured beverage enriched with high grade quality marine collagen that nourishes your skin to make it firm and lift the signs of aging, thus reviving its naturally healthy and youthful glow. CoCollagen is NAFDAC approved and it has ISO 22000 certification.

CoCollagen provides the following benefits among others:

-Tones and moisturises the skin.
- Revitalises appearance
- Helps achieve a glowing radiant complexion
- Rejuvenates mature skin
- Plumps up the skin and lips
- Reduces depth of fine lines and wrinkles
- Smoothens "crow's feet" lines and reduces furrows
- Reduces dark circles around the eyes
- Promotes skin elasticity
- Firms and tightens sagging skin
- Reduces visibility of stretch marks

To get this product or to become a high-earning distibutor of this product, simply call 08052914930. It can be delivered to any part of Nigeria and the world.

Not all skin bleaches are dangerous. Let me remind you everything you put on your skin made from store have some form of carcinogenic effet. Even the products made not to whiten skin like Nivera, baby lotion are not natural. Just the ones made for blacks are worse espeially the ones made by non-blacks as they are not as tested and as pleasant smelling as other products. There is this only one cream I came accross said to be invented by a lady from Ghana. It lightens the skin permanently and is safe. I have used it and became white. I never had any side effects and I have very sensitive skin. I had tried so many products. I dont know how she makes it but she also has something you put on your feet if you pregnant and it makes the child light too. It was expensive to buy but worth it. Not only those it bleaches to a natural result but it makes skin super soft and glowing. Not ashy. No dark knucles or knees. I tried to make people know about this product but soon as you start talking about this people think its fraud. If you are interested in getting the cream made in Guinea you can contact markap21@hotmail.co.uk
But prices start are expensive. It also comes with a guarantee.

Re: Best Skin Lightening/toning Soap by TheBBF(f): 12:50pm On Jul 28, 2011
I see a lot of hate post on skin lightening, and I find it quite strange. People make comments that we should embrace our dark skin, and we should stop trying to be white, blah blah. I just wanted to state that there is a difference between skin lightening/brightening and skin bleaching. I am not an advocate of skin bleaching in any way or form. I believe it is quite dangerous to bleach your skin to entirely different color in fact no safe skin lightening product can do that. only harsh chemicals can bleach a person over 3 shades.

Anyway my point is just because a person wants to use a skin lightener doesn’t mean they want to bleach. Hyperpigmentation/skin discoloration is a real skin disorder and in some or most cases can be unsightly, which is why women use tons of concealer, foundation, and powder to cover it up. Skin lighteners are there to help people reduce skin discoloration and have a more uniform and flawless complexion. What is wrong with wanting to have smooth even skin? Our skin produces more melanin than other races which is what make us dark, and what protects us from the sun. But the sun can also cause us to produce excess melanin, which causes skin discoloration. In fact out of all the races we are the ones most prone to skin discoloration. The only way combat skin discoloration is with the use of skin lighteners and sunscreen.

As much as I would like to say only sunscreen can do the job. No it can't. Sometimes lighteners and exfoliators must be used to combat the worst of discoloration. Safe skin lighteners generally prevent excess melanin from generating. This allows a person who uses it wisely to maintain the complexion they were meant to be or born with.

A darker skinned beauty who uses skin lighteners and toners to maintain her lovely milk chocolate complexion just because she doesn’t want to turn to dark chocolate, or have dark chocolate patches all over her face; should she be accused of trying to be white or bleaching?, Hmmmm Na wa oh. I know that there are some people out there who want to bleeeeeeaaaaaacccccccchhhhhh!!!!, lol and that is their prerogative. But I think it is unfair to judge a person because they want to use a skin lightener, or tone up their skin.

I am not trying to offend anyone or start and argument with this post oh! I just wanted to give my opinion on the issue.
