keep blaming past administrations. but don't forget that the same man who led Nigeria into recession in the early 80s, has repeated the same feat this time. Again he blamed it on past administration then as he is doing so now.
Facts are difficult to argue against.

Tell me what I say about the past administration are not true first.

Decisions such as?
Let me give you four poorly thought out decisions that destroyed this govt ..

1 : Increasing Nepa tariff and fuel price at the same time ,an action which immediately put pressure on the income of most Nigerians, a visionary President would have increased fuel prices and let Nepa Tariffs rest till the economy improves .

2: Implementing TSA at once instead of the staggered manner advised by those who brought about the idea ;;; By implementing it at once Buhari destabilized the banking sector which was meant to provide support to small and medium business at these times when oil prices had dropped

3: The MTN ridiculous fine : was another poorly thought out decisions,The Buhari govt fined MTN a ridiculous 5 billion dollars ,an action which immediately turned of FDI injection into Nigeria and triggered massive corporate capital flight out of Nigeria with some people putting the estimates at over 13 billion dollars :: the painful part is that Buhari didn't wnd up collecting the 5 billion dollars from MTN ..very poor decisions I must say

4: Declaring Tompolo wanted was another poor decision , a visionary leader would have waited till he had maximized his oil output in a period of low oil prices before trying to prosecute Tompolo , that action caused tension in the oil regions with Tompolo people bombing pipelines and furthering reducing output despite low oil prices , the action also slowed down foriegners capital investments from oil major who slowed down on any new capital expense till the tension had eased ..

Oga I can continue till ten but I am at work ..

Nigeria is surely very bad at the moment but we failed to cry and hold past leaders accountable when we were supposed to.

A man who worked for 30 years earning decent salaries but failed to save for the rainy days will have himself to blame if and when his income is halved. Our problem was caused by the past administration's failure to save while looting what they met and earned.

PMB is unfortunate to be president at this time BUT we Nigerians are lucky to have a shrewd man as him and Osinbajo at this moment.

If the IB had not been booted out, one can only wonder what could have become our story. His was an administration that had to borrow to pay federal workers even when crude was $80 per barrel. Also, about 30 states were unable to pay their workers for up to 8 months as at the time PMB came in! Where were the town criers of today? Where was 2 Face, Charlie Boy, and other beneficiaries of corruption of that time?

I will ignore senseless response to my post.

I am sure Nigerians will rank amongst the world's dumbest people.

Simple logic, we find hard to understand.

I am sure if this regime was culpable, Soyinka and those who matter most in Nigeria would have been up in arms before now.

Imagine people defending criminals and corrupt politicians are same protesting about the economic woes brought upon us by the looters they hail!

Shame on them!

the past has gone there is nothing we can do about it again, to avoid the mistake we made in the past, that why we have to act now. in the past we are too quiet, but now we must voice out.

This is foolishness.. When ur father was earning 5 Million per month u watched him waste it.. And didn't complain.. Now he has been sacked and earn 200k a month u want him to give u all he didn't when he was earning 5 Million..

Honestly Nigerians are dumb... We don't even know who to blame for a particular problem that's our main problem

We can only get out of recession by spending and we can only spend by either taxing or borrowing.. This government chose to borrow and u tell your reps not to allow it.. Yet u don't want to pay more tax.... And ur out foolishly protesting

Bro, tell ur pay masters to do the right things... if they so much believe that they are different from the past leaders, they should cut on everything they do..

And pls, stop the crap! Many of the current leaders in ur current administration have ruled this country and are still ruling this country, many were with pdp and other platforms..

Instead of heavy taxing the already dead citizens, ban medical vacation, treat ur selves in naija... ban foreign vacations for public office holders, go on vacation in naija.. if u dont like it, dont contest..

Cut on the outrageous retirement allowances for politicians, military and para military retired bosses...

Did u see our budget, eh? We keep buying computers every year and u want me to pay more tax? We keep budgeting ridiculous amount for renovation of these criminals' houses and u want me to pay more? We spend so much on Aso Rock clinic and they still travel abroad for medical check out and u want me to pay more.. Guy, thunder fire anyone supporting any of these criminals..

There is nothing special about Buhari and his team... they are all criminals, corrupt and drivin by nepotism.. U know nothing bro.. These men u are supporting both PDP and APC leaders, both in current and past administrations, if u see how these men party and spend money meant for our collective good, u will weep. I av seen and I can tell u, they dont deserve this stupid support u just put up here, including Buhari..

Didn't know we had smart brains like you here in nairaland.

The TSA policy crippled the banking sector which in turn is leading to massive sacking.. It shouldn't have been rushed in that manner.

You dnt fight the so called corruption by seizing the funds meant for good purposes.

Also about the Tompolo issues, there where certain statements a leader should make like the 97% and 5%. If we had a father in that clown he wouldn't have said such tin.

Once again you nailed it

But my question to you is this: Peradventure Buhari fails to deliver before 2019, and he is booted out, does it mean whoever comes in isn't to be blamed for a poor performance in his four years? After all, his predecessors met the Same problem too.

Buhari knew we wanted a better economy. That's why we put them there. We didn't vote him to spite the south. Now playing the blame game doesn't cut it. He knew Jonathan was corrupt, he knew power was bad, he knew inflation was rising.

5) I will legalise crude oil refining done in the creeks. This will reduce however small, the quantity of petrol imported into this country on a daily basis which will also reduce the demand for the dollar. And this will generate income for locals in the creeks. I will only put structures in place to enforce quality. This way, everybody is happy. The government, citizens and even locals in the creeks. Because like it or not, the government can not effectively combat oil bunkering.

A simple root cause analysis will show that the current problems we face are due to mismanagement of our collective wealth by the previous administrations.
