This is what i hate about some people. The guy took his time to help you review your life and at the end, you made him feel like a jobless person. Let me tell you what you don't know. They pay money on most job platforms to do what he just did for you.
Am not bragging but a friend of mine has sent hers since last year to me to help her review. All i have done since then is view it. Thou i saw all her errors but am just too occupied to review it. Here you are and you are being paranoid about it.
I don't know you and don't even want to with all this you just said. Who that one help right?

Have you tried submitting CV to companies in hard copy by visiting their offices in person; sometimes it works even when it seems not normal


The truth is; don't give up until you secure that your desired job, persistence pays.

this method can provide opportunity for you to jam oga face to face and showcase your talent(s)
but then again ogas are rare to see! but almost always approachable polite like DPO in police stations. lest i forget most of these ogas are old school therefore this old school method is more likely to appeal to them.

God help you if you meet gateman or HR in bad mood!

another advatage is that might be more likely to walk into live job interviews and gatecrash them.
you may also be lucky to meet staff, HR included in cheerful mood on certain days.

Can one add his / her date of birth on CV? And again let the HRs in the building tell us what CV is expected to look like in Nigeria, enough of CV template from abroad which doesn't matter in our own country.

madame please calm down, he didnt criticise in bad faith. am sure if he didn't want to help he wouldn't have even gone through your cv in the 1st place. there was no where he ever pasted any of your personal info (even the ones you must have forgotten to edit). do you know some people find it easier to check their "mentions" rather than checking their mails.

You cannot just be applying for jobs in the dark. You need to be informed.

On www.HRtechnique.com you can also get insights into every stage of the recruitment processes of these companies. If you cannot find yours, make a request or use the search tab. They are there.

Yes follow the Ops points, get a good CV review, make changes as recommended but more importantly, be informed.

Character and Attitude are the key essentialites a person must possess before you can be absorbed into an organization. madam u lack those key ingredients if u cant absorb critique.

Jglad I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news but your CV is not a Hit, here are the long list of 10 Things I noticed.

1. You don't need 2 email address

2. You don't need 2 phone numbers

3. You don't need your Next of Kin on your CV

4. You don't need a 4 line paragraph describing your "Capabilities"

5. State of Birth, LGA, Nationality, Marital Status, Gender, Religion are not needed.

6. The section labeled "other information" should be "Leadership Experience"

7. Kindly introduce a bullet section for your "Skills"

8. Your Objective is very general and conventional. Change it to something you thought out yourself.

9. Where you had your NYSC is not on your CV. Include it if you can.

10. Build more on your job responsibilities during I.T

Are you sure about ur point 5? u said one phone number is enough, in this country where there is no constant power supply. different stories about CV everyday, which one can one folo now, nawa oo

They are not your flaws but flaws on your CV. So for taking the time to help review your CV what the Op gets in return is some disparaging and snide remarks as words of appreciation. What's the fuss all about if he critiques your CV here? At least, other nairalanders like you and I can get to learn from it and edit similar mistakes on our cv too. Take this from me, this attitude won't help you in your job search. I'm talking from experience.
