We understand that he is physically challenged, but that doesn't rule out the fact that most of them are into many criminal activities like concealing arms for criminals, acting as informant also to criminals and selling of hard and banned substances like Indian hemps( cannabis). Mere looking you will see his upper regions are well developed which shows he exercises regularly that means he his much handy. If you've lost the use of your lower limb like him and do most physical stuffs like manoeuvring his wheel chair around, you will surely develop such shoulders and arms.

Wearing camo was no excuse to assault him. Those who assaulted him shouldn't be wearing Nigerian army uniform. If that guy was able bodied, I doubt anyone of those phools would've gotten a draw in a one to one bare knuckle fight with him.

The army personnel involved in that incident are cowards.

there are so many reasons that could make him be wearing it. lack of cloths,reminder of past events, maybe he has a loved one that died in all these useless war, it's even 4kin possible he wore it for the luv of his country, trying to show that he would luv to fight for his country if he was not in such state.

Nigerian army says they do not want the citizens solidarity by wearing their uniform, why not leave it alone. I don't support brutality though.

UPDATED: Army arrests soldiers who brutalised crippled man in Onitsha

The Nigerian Army says it has identified and arrested two soldiers who allegedly brutalised a crippled man in New Market Road, Ontisha, in Anambra State.

The army in a statement released by 11.50pm on Wednesday said the soldiers had also been charged by their commanding officer.

A video showing the officers dragging and beating a crippled man for wearing a military camouflage gone viral on Wednesday.

The Director, Army Public Relations, Brig.Gen. Sani Usman, said in the statement that the soldiers had been apprehended.

He said, “The attention of the Nigerian Army has been drawn to a video clip in which two soldiers were seen maltreating a physically challenged person for allegedly wearing a camouflage shirt.

“We wish to inform the public that the incident took place on Tuesday 7th February 2017, at Onitsha, Anambra State.

“In line with our zero tolerance for acts of indiscipline and unprofessional conducts especially in relation to violation of human rights, we wish to further state that the soldiers involved have since been identified and apprehended.

“They have also been charged for assault by their Commanding Officer. Similarly, troops have been warned to desist from such acts that infringe on human rights and cast serious aspersions on the good image of the Nigerian Army.

“The public should please regard this ugly incident as an isolated case which is not true reflection of the Nigerian Army.”

Norms vary from place to place. I think the prohibition of wearing camo will benefit us all (military and civilian) .

I never liked what the soldiers did to him... buh in the other hand, the crippled has been involved in so many criminal activities around egerton street onitsha where I use to live. People drove him out sometime ago because of his attitude. Buh still the soldiers shouldn't have maltreated him like that. I rest my case

This is good news i am impressed the perpetrators were arrested and the man is getting publicity, recognition and some $$. Hopefully federal govt will donate a better chair for him and empower him.
