You say sheer poverty? In churches? What's your definition of sheer poverty? And what's your research results gotten from all the churches in Nigeria? Do you know most Christians are educated? And what's the correlation between education and sheer poverty?

When religion is trying to help those who are poor already is different from they are poor because they're religious or they were once rich but became poor after adopting religion.

I can now conclude that a valid research will be the one carried out after all those poverty stricken countries are less religious or irreligious. I know that time is near but that's when we will see if all this research conclusions are really reliable.

And BTW, the richest, most educated states and the ones with the lowest crime rates in the US are the most irreligious while the Opposite is the case for the religious ones

the area area with the highest divorce, murder, STD/HIV/AIDS, teen pregnancy, single parent homes, infant mortality, and obesity rates in the nation? As a region, the Bible Belt has the poorest health care systems and the lowest rates of high school graduation

But some of the richest people in the world are/were also religious, not everything is black and white. Many factors and policies contribute to the likelihood of wealth or poverty of a Nation, or a set of people, and religon has little or nothing to do with it. The likes of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE comes to mind. We know oil played a major role in all of those cases, it would be myopic then to say they are rich due to religion. If the reverse was the case, it would also be myopic to attribute their poverty to religion.

We're trying to establish a pattern here. That's why we're not just relying on a single country... Take a look at the most religious countries viz a viz the poor ones... Is there a correlation? The obvious answer is yes...
