Gunmen in the early hours of Friday reportedly attacked a police station in Eika, Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State. They ended up killing the two policemen on duty and a detainee in police custody. They later burned down the police station and also killed a community leader, Mallam Sadiq Obomi. This Day reportsthat the gunmen numbering 10 invaded the community at about 1am Friday shooting sporadically as they headed for the police station. An eyewitness, who is a civilian security man, who claimed anonymity said that the gunmen came in two vehicles.
