Senator Dino Melaye has described the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), David Babachir Lawal as lacking in integrity and a sense of responsibility. He made this observation while reacting once again to the N250 million grass cutting fraud allegation levelled against the SGF.

“I have insisted that on his honour the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, ought to have resigned by now like I said the last time, he should be reciting the psalms and asking for mercy."

“But unfortunately, it is when we start punishing criminals in power, when we start punishing thieves in power, when Nigerians stop celebrating mediocrity and corruption that we will begin to have headway."

Senator Melaye stated that if there was any modicum of leadership responsibility in Mr. Lawal, he would have taken the path of honour and resigned.

He blamed the audacity which men such as the SGF have to continue to commit impunity to society's penchant to celebrate and defend corrupt people.

“These days, a man steals money from government and what you do is to celebrate him; then we cannot get out of the woods. Let me say that in an unjust society, silence is a crime."

“People who abuse processes and the laws of the land must be questioned. We must all get out of cocoons and begin to ask questions. It is laughable that Babachir Lawal is still seating in council as SGF. I mean, it does not portray any sense of responsibility at any level."

A major problem in naija is that thieves try to catch thieves.

But again, there is a saying "na who dem catch be thief"

I could be wrong but I don't know how Dino himself came about his wealth, i font know of any major company he has tgat may have given him tge wealth he fkaunts in our faces everyday apart frim him being ib govt. now he is querying another thief who is being protected by the president/presidency.

Dino is right anyways, we will never make head way if thieves are expected to catch and prosecute thieves in Nigeria.

They have stolen even more. When facts start coming out these foolish ones will be decamping to the new majority party like the ex-pdp, now apc members.
