Right about now, you can't really get a good laptop for that price, the price of laptops now has skyrocketed.

Do you have a particular spec in mind?...Brand new or UK Used?

You can't see if you want new laptop with good specs...

I just bought a new laptop with 8gb ram, 1 terabyte, touchscreen, 3 USB port, cd rom from Amazon for 360$

At 145k with shipping, the system is around 250k here

you cant get a really good laptop with that now. Good laptops now cost 280k and above.

But then you might not need it for heavy duty stuff such as gaming. So you can get an HP with a 4gb RAM and core i3 like the HP 250 G4.

U.K. used would have been a fine option but I can't help but feel that the so called 2nd hand Uk is actually 5th hand. Except I am sure of a good place to get such then I might consider.

I like Toshiba though. But I can use even Lenovo. I am not sooo keen on specs. I need it for my younger sibling.

The monthly limit is 100$ so I used by Gtbank card, my mom's card, my sisters card to buy AMAZON GIFT CARD... then paid with the gift card...

ram 8gb

graphics memory 1gb dedicated memory ( total of 3gb graphics memory)

HDD 720gb

etc.

Well to be honest, you need to know the what your sibling wants it for. If he is in school studying Architecture or any of these courses where they use all these software like matlab, Archi Studio etc. then a high performance PC with a good specification would be better. Something like 1 Terabyte Hard disk with at least an 8 GIG RAM would do the trick and the laptop processor in the I Core Series more preferably I Core 7.

Now which brand would you go for, GO for HP(Cos it spare parts are readily available). Other good brands are Dell and Toshiba(Why because if you see it in the Nigeria market, its likely the quality ones unlike HP that has a lot of clones.

Other brands like zinox, lenovo acer etc are cool buh their spare parts are not readily availabale and they do not actually command a heavy fee if you plan selling in the future.

If your siblings just needs the laptop for normal school work then choose a low spec like 500G hard disk, 4 Gig Ram kind of system

Whatever you do stay away from those useless Lenovo laptops.
Mine was even brand new hopeless place thing did little over a year next thing I'm hearing motherboard ...price to replace na, budget padding requirement.
Had to sell off as scrap meanwhile I get one HP going on 6yrs akpuruka no gree except for battery not promoting the HP God knows I'm in the market for a mini now preferably Dell or something but whatever you do leave Lenovo for Lenovo
