Morning house,
Please I would like to get ur suggestions on Universities dat are open for winter admissions 2018.
My school of interest is Memorial University, but due to finacial limitations I did not know that I would get the money for my program dis early so i did not start my application and its closed already.
My course of interest is M.A Sociology(thesis option), with a 4.23 CGPA and a budget of 9M(self-sponsor). I would like suggestions 4rm experienced people in the house on schools that I will be able to afford and that are open for January 2018 admission. Those i saw are above my budget.
I feel waiting for MUN till next fall will be a waste of time of some sort as I dont really have a good job dat can keep me busy till then(already a worry for TRV) and secondly age isnt by my side.
Thanks for your expected inputs.

Am in your shoes too. I will be applying to other schools, waiting for MUN is waste of time. my UG is Biology, Applying to Concordia Uni for MSc. Biology, Self Sponsored 12M.

I've been seeing posts about "upfront medicals" but I'm not sure I fully understand.

Can someone explain to me how that works? Also any idea of the cost of medicals in Abuja?

Good day gurus in the house.

I have been a silent follower of this thread for a long time.

I have just been admitted to the University of Saskatchewan for MASc degree in Chemical Engineering without funding for fall 2017 session.

Annual expenses is in the range of 20-25k CAD and its for 2 years.

Am self sponsored so i want to ask if i raise the money for the first year from here prior leaving will i be able to fund myself for the second year from hustling (Part time job) while studying?

Please a quick response from people with experience will be highly appreciated so i can take decision as regards the admission.

Thanks

Congratulations... From what I heard, it's kinda hard to raise the whole fee from jobs, but someone from this forum got admission to USASk (Full funded ),when he resumed he still applied for another scholarship and was awarded.
Keep hope Alive.

Thanks bro.

Please can you link me with the person in question so I can have one on one conversation with him?

By God's grace I can afford the first year expenses myself but continuity is my major concern and if there are possibilities of getting scholarships once I get there I will gladly go for it.

Thanks once again

Boss,

Please get co-sponsor(s) with verifiable income to show that they can fund your 2nd year. Pls dont make mistake of doing self sponsor for a two year program unless your account balance exceeds tuition fees + living expenses for the whole of the two years.

I was self sponsor for a two year master program last year and was bounced for insufficient fund.

If you have c-sponsors with you being the principal sponsor, it is enough if the combined account balance covers just the first year tuition + living expenses for one year. CIC don't encourage hustling to pay fees

Please be careful about this.

Please, after passport submission, how long did it take for the approval mail? You got PPR on the 9th.. If you submitted it the next day (10th). That makes it 7 days. In summary sha, after you got the PPR, when did you submit it at vfs so i can calculate myself. Thank you.

I submitted the next day, 10th February.

Thanks man, I appreciate.

I can get my uncle's account statement and add to mine that will definitely surpass the expenses for the 2 years for the visa sake but I know I will be on my own once I get there because he can only get me SOA but definitely not money that's why am thinking of survival in the second year.

Hope you understand bro?

Hello house, I have a few inquires with regards to trv application

1. With regards to proof of financial support, I see a lot of people claim to send various documents from their sponsors like soa, court affidavit, proof/statement of assets, etc. How exactly is that possible? In the CiC portal there's only one field to upload documents as proof of means of supports. Do you combine all these documents into one PDF with multiple pages or what?

2. With regards to medical, on the CiC portal there's a field called "Request For Medical Exam (required)" and it gives you an upload option. What exactly am I to upload there?
Also, if I did the upfront medical, how do I link it or inform CiC? Do I tell the hospital that it's for Canadian embassy? Will they send it immediately? And do I pay extra for them to send it?

3. With regards to passport/digital photographs, in the instructions for the format of passport, they said to sign behind the photo. Are you to scan and upload the back of the photo? That'd be weird.

4. With regards to biometrics, are you meant to do that in a special way or place? Or just at any cybercafe? Because I see a special fee for biometrics so I'm not sure.

5. Lastly I see a lot of people send documents like ielts, waec results, birth certificate, police report, transcripts etc. I don't see any field where you're given the option to upload that. So why and how do you send that?

And on a side note, what exactly could CiC want to do with your transcripts and waec result? Do they want to give me extra admission or scholarship?

That will be great bro. However, do well to prove relationship with your uncle.. You can use documents like birth certificate, marriage certs etc to do this. Also include affidavit of sponsorship and letter of sponsorship from your uncle stating the reason(s) he's sponsoring you and how much he will make available for your studies in Canada.

All the best.

Good. Add his birth cert. I learnt the acceptable one is the one from NPC. If he doesnt have one, try process it for him. If you are in Lagos, it will take you 2 weeks to get one with less than 5K as the official fees.
