Na wa. I can clearly deduce from these comments that men think little of female drivers and believe that they can't be trusted completely with a car. This is really sad. 2 Likes |

dingbang: any gender can be best driver women only take more time to make a decision hence based on stastics less women get involved in accidents compared to men so being a best driver is one defination slow and being cautious or fast and taking risky world best cooks are mean but doesnt women are not good cooks ? 1 Like |

Did I read correctly? Women tend to be slow in making decisions? I wonder if you would have the balls to tell you mother, wife or daughter that! We have women race car drivers, women mechanics, women engineers, astronauts, recognized scientists, deep sea divers, mountain climbers, stunts women, Olympic medalist etc. I am sure most of these need people who can make quick decisions. Women even excel more at being doctors and medical emergency personnel. Why? Because we are good at multitasking, thinking in our feet and placing others first. If we can have women excelling in all these 'men' areas then I sure as heck know women are very good drivers. I can go as far to say some are better than most male drivers. It's not about who can drive at the highest speed or who can over take like James Bond. It about who can drive with caution so as to avoid accidents. They are looking for your type in Saudi Arabia. I am sure they will appreciate your thoughts towards the capability of women. Kjnwancaro: 3 Likes |

chinene1: Yea ma. So how many women are Auto mechanics or car racers and all those things you mentioned ? If it happens then it gets on the news. The topic of this debate is driving which is our ability to make quick decisions to emergencies like avoid being hit, hitting someone or crashing all together I do not need to start explaining to you that women are soft, they get frighten at the slightest thought of crashing, this will make them slow because their mind is already troubled from a possible miscalculation. The mind plays the biggest role in driving then you need to believe in your calculation, this has been ruled out in most women because they panic too much. If there's anyone to underestimate the power of a woman it would not be me because I have seen. Like I said there are a lot of badass female drivers but IF we want to generalize then I don't think they can really drive. |

dingbang:What will you do when your car breaks down on the road? You do realise breakdown could range from minor to major... Let's say your car is overheating, what do you do? If you ball joint pulls off, what do you do? Your engine knocks, what do you do? I'm waiting. Even you don't possess the so called mechanical experience. I am 100% sure of that. Same with some other male posters here. 4 Likes |

Kjnwancaro: I slow down not because am scared of crashing but because I don't want to have to fix my car or that of someone else, don't want to have to spend money on hospital bills and don't need the drama. It's not the mind that should rule your driving skills, it's the brain! Just like it's the mind that makes people commit crimes and not their brains. If they think with their brains, they would know how to act better. 2 Likes |

Some women drive well even on long trips. I know of a woman who trust only herself to drive between Lagos and abuja. I've been chased once by a woman on kaduna to abuja highway at 140kmph. That said, some women can't tell where the temperature guage is. Some men too |

Specialist900:Most women can't tell where the temperature guage is especially those that drive within the town. Many don't even know where the engine filter of their car is located not to talk of cabin airfilter. For a woman to be a very good driver, a man with her level of same must have being better of. Women has excelled in Adminstration, Medical and Applied Sciences, ICT than even males but in Automobile diagnosis they are still below the male counterparts. Abi how many women can quickly diagnose electrical applicances problems at home without waiting for their husbands? 1 Like |

peacettw: A woman with 2004 Camry (big daddy) overtook me while I was at 130km/hr along PH - Owerri road. I felt insulted, I have to accelerate to 145/150km/hr to overtake her. She was laughing and waved at me, meaning she understood why I accelerated. Some women like my sister drives better than some men. My sister drives well on highway better than some men. 2 Likes |

salvo583:Paying attention to your car isn't gender specific. If men were excellent 'attention payers', mechanics would be out of business. The average Nigerian pays no attention to his/her car. One shouldn't go about performing DIYs on your car because you wanna prove you're car savvy. There are professionals for that_ allow them do their job. If the women around you can't diagnose, limit it to them please. There are millions of women in Nigeria . The topic/question is DEAR MEN,DO SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCES ON GOOD FEMALE DRIVERS YOU'VE SEEN not ARE MEN BETTER DRIVERS not CAN WOMEN DIAGNOSE CAR FAULTS. Some of you are talking something else. An experienced woman driver with 10years experience equals to a man with 2years experience in driving. Women are reckless drivers, emotional drivers, misjudging drivers. They can't take on the rigorous tasks needed to handle the stress. Not all though but 80% of them don't deserve to be operating the wheels, but I think it has to do with demographic I have only seen Such women drivers in Lagos especially those driving a full sized SUV |

I have seen several good and maybe real brutal female drivers, but inside lagos ooo. I haven't seen any on long distance trips. Ok, there was this lady that kept overtaking every moving object coming out from Akure. She was taking so much risk on that narrow road. But when we hit ore, i refuelled and licked her shortly before shagamu. That was the last i saw her. She was good but i was better. Case closed. 1 Like |

peacettw: Do you know that a broken fuse can stop you anywhere? A broken fuse could even knock your engine if you are not observant. You need to know your car's problem to get remote help. You have to be able to notice a minute difference in your car's behaviour to point to the problem. I was able to change my brake pads on a long journey. In your case, you will either have to abandon the car or destroy your brake rotors incuring more cost. |

dingbang:Really?...sense of judgement yes.. but attitude? ... and mechanical experience? I am a professional driver... professional driver with awards... not mechanic. .. so what does mechanical experience has to do with one being a good driver? ... do you drive @ topic.... I drive for a large company and it's about 60/40 men/women drivers. The women are just as capable as the men.... some are even much better than most of the men...and... I'm talking trucks.... handling trucks like cars. In general....from my observations... women are more cautious drivers.... men are more likely to be wreckless.... I guess bringing their video game driving into the real world. Lots of good drivers both men and women. ... and lotssss of bad drivers....especially the ehmmm.... let me shut up. 2 Likes |

I have driven in a lot of places across the globe and a good driver is a good driver man or woman. However, in all my travels in Nigeria highway driving I don't ever think I have seen a woman drive long distance. I will drive from Lagos to Warri or Ph but haven't noticed any women drivers. This is a digression but intrinsically linked to your question. Why are there not more women driving on the Nigerian highways On the other driving around Lagos I always see very competent female drivers. 1 Like |

there is no such thing as a perfect driver. But i've nvr seen an average female driver. They're either 2 careful even when circumstances doesn't get dat. OR 2 recless. (especially female nurses) |

When you are driving in a typical Lagos road, and you noticed a sluggish and annoying car moving in front, sometimes those cars could get you infuriated because their indecision most time affect you coming behind. You don't need to investigate too much, people already know they are female drivers. When you manage to overtake them, you countenance dropped when you noticed they are female drivers. Lagos kind of road, not too good for female drivers only few percentage can cope without damaging their cars |
