yea I know, I thought you made a slight error since x cannot be greater than 6 (i.e x>6) and at the same time x less than 2( i.e. x<2) you wrote (6 < X < 2). So it should be the other way round... that is 2< x<6. Cheers!

A point A and B divide the line joining P (3,2) and Q (7,9),internally and externally in the ratio of 5:4 respectively. Find the coordinates of A and B.

Will i be right if i say m=5 and n=4?

Hi all. Please what's the easiest way to find the value of the angle A in the equation below (without using trial and error method)

tanA - sinA = 0.083

I think they meant A divides internally in the ratio of 5:4 and B divides externally in the ratio of 5:4. So solve for the coordinates of A and B separately using the same ratio.

Suppose that f(x) = 1/x+1 and g(x) = 4/x+1. Find the domain of each of the composition
a) f o g
b) f o f

The domain of f(x) is all real numbers EXCEPT -1
The domain of g(x) is all real numbers EXCEPT -1
a) f o g implies f(g(x)
= f(4 /x+1)
Recall that f(x)= 1/ x+1. what this means in simple terms is that f of anything, is 1/ ( that thing +1)
Therefore, f( 4/ x+1) = 1/ ( 4/ (x+1) + 1). This will finally give (x+1) / (5+ x) as the final answer.

b) f o f? First time I am seeing this kind but if the question does not have an error, then f of = f( f(x)
= f ( 1/ (x+1)) = 1/ (1/ (x+1) + 1)
= (x+1)/ (2+x).
Would have taken a snap shot of the solutions but my phones have been stolen. Had to manage to type it out.

If you use an android phone, just expand the screen, you will see the solutions clearly.The phone I used was not too good and it cannot be typed .

I got 2 set of solutions but only one set is correct .
The final set of answers is
Constant ratio = 2
First term = 5
Sum of first 20 terms = 5242875.
