AS NANS ULTIMATUM ENDS, SOUTH AFRICANS MUST LEAVE NIGERIA OR FACE THE CONSEQUENCES

Being the text of a Press Conference by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) led by Comrade Aruna Kadiri on February 25, 2017 in Abuja.
In continuation of the firm resistance of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) of the Xenophobic attacks in the Republic of South Africa on our compatriots and their business in their country and the complicity of the South Africa authorities, NANS demands the immediate return of all South African Citizens in Nigeria as their safety and that of their business interests can no longer be guaranteed. We must make it clear that what happened on Thursday February 23, 2017 when we held our sensitisation rally against xenophobia is a mere child’s play. The main action will start on Tuesday February 28, 2017 should the South Africa Nationals fail to heed this generous advice.
Gentlemen of the press, you would recall that we had issued an ultimatum two (2) days ago advising South African Citizens to leave Nigeria. IT IS NOT A JOKE! It is in their interest to keep themselves and whatever businesses they may have safe by leaving our country and go home to cure their misguided, lazy and demented citizens. Of course for us, no relationship whatsoever exists between Nigeria and South African beyond the official diplomatic pretences.
One may argue that some actions were taken by South African authorities yesterday against those xenophobes. We are aware of that deceit concocted to assuage the enraged civil communities around the world.
NANS cannot be fooled and we would not back down until there is an equal measure of reactions. Nobody can mess with Nigerian citizens anywhere in the world again without hearing loudly and clearly from the Nigerian Students. The Federal Government can remain aloof, but the students will never! Enough is enough!
We are now in intensive consultation with our structures and campuses. And we can state categorically that as from Tuesday February 28, 2017 the students will rid this great country of South Africans and whatever represents them or they represent. We are determined to ensure that before next weekend no South African South African business will remain in Nigeria. We shall keep both citizens and business that reject our advice in “Safe Custody”
This is the position of the Nigerian Students at home and in the Diaspora. Thank you ladies and gentlemen!
Aluta Continua, Victoria Ascerta!

Comrade Aruna Kadiri
(National President, NANS)

Tit -for -tat
.
without balance of force SA will always take Nigeria and other African countries for granted
.

In 2015 Jacob Zuma in a public address asked their citizens why are they behaving like Africans

it was circulated in all the media channels and sparked a serious debate around the country
.

a butterfly who sees himself as a bird, if not our govt who are failing us

I think the NANS President is not properly guided. He should be called to order and be reprimanded for inciting students.
My opinion though.

Options for Peaceful resolution not exhausted just yet. In other words, NANS should consult an dialogue more. Some actions can satisfy urgent anger and hurt due process. NANS should seek for an emergency meeting of its leadership and Madam Abike Dabiri and Minister Onyeame. It's beyond Aluta, it's has aa lot of diplomacy to it. Am glad NANS is talking and talking tough. It's patriotic and Solidarity.
