There is absolutely nothing in what the governor said... but like we know Nigerians if it's not supervised thoes tyres would find themselves on the road being sold by same people who are supposed to recycle it to different things. Best bet they should supervise the temporary damage of the tyres before taking to Abia. so we don't hear stories that touch. |

Properly recycling the seized, substandard tyres is most important, but I'm afraid that sending those tyres to Abacha without proper controls in place may lead to a good percentage of the tyres ending up on vehicles across the country.
That could lead to senseless deaths from accidents. |

This is common sense.
I really don't know what our govt officers think about when faced with a problem.
Most always take the short cut.
Burning tyres in the open is bad for the environment.
Same with gas flaring.
We need to start being pro recycle and pro Nigerian. |

Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has urged the Federal Government to consider transporting the substandard tyres worth over 5 billion Naira seized from dubious Chinese Businessmen to Aba to be used for further Production instead of Disposing them.

Let them bring those tyres to Aba and our boys at Port Harcourt Road will use them to produce several items like fan belts, conveyor belts, etc which can be sold at very good prices".
