THE perceived presidential ambition of a National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu is unsettling the North and already dividing its leaders. The former Lagos governor had last weekend in Akure, the Ondo State capital hinted that, he may contest for Nigeria’s presidency if there will be vacancy in 2019. He has since clarified the statement credited to him. The clarification notwithstanding, Northern leaders are already divided over his perceived and real intentions.http://sunnewsonline.com/presidency-tinubu-divides-northern-leaders/

It's the right of all Nigerians to aspire into the highest office in the country and must then sell what their programmes are. It's ridiculous the way we elect our leaders in this country not looking for the best hands but principally your tribe. If somebody from any of the Zone emerges, it must be that he is our best to have come from such a zone. I also have concerns that old men are the one discussing the future of Nigeria and the youth are not joining, the average age of those interviewed is over 70years. Credible younger Nigeria who are politically inclined should join in the determination of our future |

There's nothing concrete here that I should be bothered about, Asiwaju won't contest either against Buhari or any other northerner, if any aspirant wants to come from the south at all to slug it out against the north, it should be from the south east, except providence presents Osinbajo. |
| Re: 2019 Presidency: Tinubu Divides Northern Leaders - The Sun by greatgod2012(f): 5:30am On Mar 04, 2017 |
If the northern leaders like, let them break their heads, Tinubu has every constitutional right to contest for President but it now depends on the generality of Nigerians to elect him into the position! Personally, I can't vote for him, he's not the only intelligent person in Nigeria and then, he's too cunning for my own liking! |

sarrki:Illiteracy is a great disease, walahi. Progressive abi progreTHIEF ![]() Anyway, if the drug dealer could be our de facto political leader despite our acclaimed sophistication, why WON'T he be president? Especially since his PLACE HOLDER can be easily knocked off as planned. adadike281:It is called "testing the waters" or exploratory phase in politics. The JagaBandit understands our collective greediness and mumuness that he has exploited these past 18 years to rise from a pauperised drug dealer returneee who forfeited $460,000 to pay off his CRIME to the US but is today (arguably) the richest Yoruba man. I remain grateful to Gbenga Daniel – Tinubu dismisses rift rumors |

anonimi:It is time for the South to unite behind Tinubu. I know it sounds absurd but trust me if we don't we will regret it. The North has always used the south, it is time we use the North to move this country forward. I don't like Tinubu but at this Junction, we need to think ahead. |

Nigerian constitution allows anybody who is deemed qualified to run for office, it was never about tribe or region Afterall Yoruba voted for Ojufraud when his own people abandoned him Besides Tinubu single handedly fixed Lagos with those he appointed, then it seemed like nonsense but now Eko is stepping up. can you say any achievement of the clueless other than theft and stupidity displayed by husband, wife and adopted child? |
| Re: 2019 Presidency: Tinubu Divides Northern Leaders - The Sun by aljharem(m): 6:01am On Mar 04, 2017 |
adadike281:He cannot declare his full position yet but trust me they (northern cabal) want to kill the south completely and it is such a shame that Tinubu is just seeing this. Never too late, if he wants to come out, then we need to support him. In the south, we need some "untouchables" and they cannot be militants like Tompolo and co. We need to be very careful, forget party, the North does not care about party by a collective interest of the few. We are more educated in the south but we are always the fools. Tinubu is not making it clear his position until we get closer to 2019 |
