Heart wrenching.

What sort of man stays in house whilst the woman goes out to turn on the gen? Except they're saying they respect equality of the sexes 100%.

Sleep on ma'am. God continue to be with you.

I don't understand the story and the comments. Did the husband best her to death or the generator caused the death. Anybody can put on the gen besides she probably must have been putting on the gen before her death and nothing happened. It might be an accident of a naked wire or something. Just confused as to why people are blaming the husband. Abi I no read the story well

According to Rita who shared the painful story, her friend Mirian Oluchi Okpara died after she was electrocuted while switching on the generator for her kids.

In part she wrote....

'I write this with tears. Mirian Oluchi Okpara eventually died in that marriage. So I received a call last night from my friend, that our friend Oluchi had died. According to report, she was electrocuted while switching on the generator for the kids and the husband in the house. She was found shaking on the floor and died on their way to the hospital. Many believe she was murdered'.

See the screenshots above for a better narration.

That's a lesson for all our ladies.
If your husband doesn't cherish u, break up and start a better life. The more you endure a failed relationship, the worse it becomes.
Bastards will always remain bastards. They will never change.

One way to die: remain in abusive relationship. You would pay dearly for it and he would become free to follow all those smelling sh!ts.

Like seriously,

What does some useless men derive in maltreating there wives? Someone that is suppose to be a source of happiness to your life, you turn her to a punching bag and psychologically damage her.

RIP Ma'am

He must be investigated for her death if there is evidence that he used to abuse her. I seriously doubt she was killed by the gen.

Anytime a wife dies, everybody starts suspecting domestic violence and spewing unfounded stories, yet if the man died they will say he is suffering the effects of philandering. All am saying is I accept the possibilty of domestic violence cos many men are violent. But fact is that from the comments up there , all those women won't be foaming in the mouth if the husband had died, infact I have never seen women foam for a dead husband even the one his wwife pushed to death. Just saying

Based on all the hellish events she suffered during her lifetime, I wish to ask one question: "if she really was a model, before her marriage to the Imp, then she must have had a reasonable measure of male exposure/experience; in other words, how d hell did she end up with this guy without noticing the signs? Abeg na two question I wan ask: was it mny that blinded or clouded her judgment, as is always the case with her ilk?

Because she was a model does not mean she dated men or was a prostitute. She could also have married her university boyfriend. She obviously married young too. You made many assumptions about models which are largely untrue!

If NEPA was supplying electricity, as obtainable in other socities, this needless death would have been avoided. Life is so cheap in Nigeria.
Na d man suppose die, enjoy Buhari and Nigeria.

I can't wrap my head around the bolded. I don't know maybe it's my upbringing but I don't see why a woman needs anyone's permission to leave an abusive marriage
My dear, I meant society should not judge them. Women in Nigeria have families, friends and religious leaders, who ussualy are the ones encouraging them to stay and endure. Many women will leave if those they look up to support their transition. Don't be too hooked at the bolded. Just the way I feel not the way everyone feels.

If the victim's friend remark is anything to go buy...then her closing remark says it all.

When you marry a man cos he is rich...

Wait, did i read this well!!
She was switching on the gen for the kids and HUSBAND!!

While there is no harm in a woman putting on the gen but if the husband is around and it's at Night, and the gen is located somewhere isolated, for them to suspect MURDER!!

Men are you learning, she probably touched a naked wire, please turn on the gen for your wives. .I'm thinking about the kids now.
A really unlucky family .
Why bring gender into this? What's difficult for a woman to switch on a generator especially when it is the type that comes with keys? You reason like those who say a woman's place is in the kitchen while the husband does the bread winning. In your opinion you believe technical matters is for the men only. Probably that's why the lady was electrocuted due to lack of experience among women having technical knowledge.

Abeg, what remark? You think only rich men are abusive to their wives? I have Seen very poor men(as in they we're poor even before marriage) who married wives and still abuse them. Many times when women are abused, people justify it and say she married for this or that reason, but of a woman kills her husband, no one judges him for marrying a pretty or successful lady . Why? Should women fear to marry too because people like you will judge them if they start experiencing abuse?

False, many women in Nigeria have been disposed of their properties by husband's familie because they claim she is the cause of his death. Or she gave him too much stress or some other story.
That they(the widows) don't come out to rant doesn't mean it doesn't happen. The husbands family does the foaming and puffing. And if she complains on social media they will also rant on social media.

From the report. I understand the man always beat her.
The FIRST SUSPECT is the husband.
Dear police, do the needful....

While we are in the corridors of assumptions, pls cld u pin-point what u called "my assumptions"? Besides dat, nowhere did I say she was a prostitute. Maybe that's how u understood my statement, although ur understanding was far disjointed from the clear and simple meaning of my comment. I don't think she married her sch boyfriend, cos the attitude displayed by the hubby is one consistent with a lot of middle aged men of his extraction; except he was a sch boyfriend, well advanced in age. So back to the ish: point out my assumptions in my earlier comments, pls.
