After giving his best to train you, you now want to setup business for him. What is wrong in the old just chilling in his veranda watching kids play while getting alerts at the end of every month from his child? Hasn't he hustle enough? When will he enjoy a well deserved retirement life? Business ko contract ni. SMH for children of these days. The last time I learned that my mother was using the money I normally sent to her, I threatened to stop it if she continue with any business. I told her to just spend the money and whenever she need another one, I will send again. 5 Likes |

that is a wrong ideas sir, he don't need to focus on making money again, what he need I believe is something to keep him busy. at such, get him chick(preferably broilers) about 20 then let him nature it,. let him see it as a business. on a side note plant about 6 heaps of yam. best of luck! 1 Like |

teebillz:You don't understand. Most aged people that have hustled all their life don't like sitting idle spending alawee! They would want to have a means to still mingle with the society and see themselves as useful rather than a burden. Business for the sged isn't a means of livelihood ! It's just for them to be active and engage their brain all the time. The interaction they get from poeple every day won't be tgere should they just sit on the veranda. The ops father must have asked for a business to do from his child I doubt it's the op wanting his father to hustle. Its just to kill boredom. 4 Likes |

alexialin:A lot of people make the mistake you are suggesting. The easiest way to kill the elderly is to make him/her idle. Getting them engaged in soft businesses is a good way for them to exercise the body physically and mentally. They also get to socialise. Lack of activity is bad for anybody especially the elderly. I must add that giving one's parents money for upkeep (if you can afford it) in addition to whatever business they do is very important because it makes them happy in a special way! 1 Like |

May God grant Nigarian youths the wisdom, intelligence and understanding to contribute meaningfully to issues that call for ideas from serious minded people. Most of the responses I have read about the above issue show lack of sound ideas and seriousness, intellectual emptiness and minds that are deficient of thinking contructively. How I wish one day most Nairalanders will start wrinting things that are thought provoking. Enough of these junks please. |

Your question would have been very valid 15 years ago. He is 70 now, setting up a business would be too stressful. Would you want to setup and run a business, when you attain the ripe age of 70? Just continue to provide for his daily needs, when your pocket let's you .... . ...... . 1 Like |

Don't even dare to get your father into selling liquor except if you want to turn him to a drunk,I guarantee you that in no time he'll start drinking it. There's nothing really he can do at that age, except having a small garden for crops and few animals e.g. Chickens+goats. Mehn free the old man is there no retirement in your dictionary? Don't be a slave driver. |
