Do you know how many job applications I sent before I got my first interview. And do you know how many job interviews I attended before I got my first job.
I even have a book where I jot down the latter.

I studied Petroleum Engineering for complete five years and after all the struggles and frustrations i passed through in school i came out with 3.47 CGPA, i proceed to serve my father land, before then i promise myself that i will hustle to get a job in order to support my siblings in school, i started sending applications even when i was serving and after my youth service, in general i am very sure i have submitted not less than 60 applications both online and offline but i have never received any interview invite. I have given professionals my CV to re-write for me several times but all to no avail. I am really regretting

Certificates! Certificate!! Certificate, Because you went to University/Polytechnic doesn't mean you have value to offer the work place can you in all sincerity enumerate what you can do with the the knowledge you acquire in school. Let start from there.

Go to PTI effurun and professionallize your self in some important areas in petroleum engineering. Or you can even get an ND There and see how oil companies will look for you. 75% of PTI graduates are being Employed in oil companies.

Bro i understand your feelings. trust me, you read one of the best course. continue to be hopeful and prayerful. again keep making new job contacts wtih friends especially those of your class mates in school, you may get connected from them.

My sympathies. But you do realise that Petroleum Engineering is one of the most competitive job markets in Nigeria? You must know somebody who is highly placed in the profession just to get one foot in.

Your written English is too poor for a graduate, this is why you can't get a good job. Take a two weeks course online or buy an English text book and read it to improve on your writing then apply for a job.

My brother,take it that you are in another school of life..nobody taught you what you will face while at school,but it is a school that every common man pass through before becoming real man. Joblessness has been there for a long time now but I tell you the truth it is for a season. Very soon the tide will turn & offer will be made unto you & your new life will start . One major lesson that God is teaching you now is for you to know that unless he helps you nobody can help you..2) You will know this season how selfish people can be,that even the ones you thought would help you with little support will not be there to do so & the lesson is that when you are fully established by God,you must not behave like others,you must emphasise with the needy & help them accordingly. .Very soon your testimony will manifest in Jesus name.

You are right. Non graduate jobs are more in the oil fields. Ppl are now after what can you do.
An advise, u cannot be living at Enugu and be looking for oil jobs.
1.Try to move to bayelsa or pH. Network with ppl there. You can be going and standing in their gate everyday , one day luck might smile on you or you even meet ppl u knew b4.

2. Many jobs come out and are not announced. Try to make friends with ppl in the field no matter how low their grades are.

3. Also know this is not the best times for oil coys. You may not get a job as high paying as it was b4, but just enter and get something doing even if its non skilled.my younger sis hubby that used to earn 1.5m monthly now earns between 250k to 350k despite having over 10 years experience. So if you get 130k or 150k salary, accept it

4. Make community leaders of oil coys your friends. Or just get to know someone that knows them. . They may help you get jobs but you have to pay for the jobs. Sometimes their terms are high. If they tell you that you have to train someone in the university, make sure the amount is spelt out and for how many years max.These ppl can milk you. It shouldn't be an open cheque like that. If you don't spell it out, u will be paying so much for exam sorting fees and the person will refuse to graduate.

5. Accept some terms you consider ridiculous to get in and get experience. When you get experience you can move over to Arab world ,calgary- Canada or Houston texas.

but may be you should focus on your skills rather than your grade, discipline, even years you spent in University.

Most Companies want candidates that can offer them something tangible not qualifications,.....they want the skillful.....capable of transforming waste/raw/common entities into a meaningful/useful ones in line with org. Obj.

We also have many petroleum engineers working in banks. Yes. Banking sector doesn't not discriminate on your course of study. Just try to enter b4 you are 27 years cos most discriminate on age and 27yrs seems be max age for entry level. Few banks take 28years.
