Thought some of you Nigerians would like to see this.

Panhard AML-90 with Biafran markings at the Nigerian National War Museum, Umuahia, Abia State.

This AML is unfortunately in poor condition, perhaps as a result of being a battlefield relic. Maybe someday some one can restore it. smiley

CAS COMMISSIONS NEW NAF BASE IN ABUJA
In its renewed effort to promote service delivery, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar has commissioned new accommodation quarters for Nigerian Air Force (NAF) personnel in Abuja. The residential quarters situated within the NAF Valley Estate would increase the available accommodation for NAF personnel within the Federal Capital Territory.
Air Marshal SB Abubakar, who was the Guest of Honour at the event stated that training of officers and men must be complemented by decent accommodation for airmen to discharge their responsibilities with the appropriate efficiency. According to the CAS, ‘’we cannot have a professional Air Force if we do not take care of the welfare of officers and men.’’ The CAS disclosed that, in addition to the provision of quality accommodation, the current NAF leadership has upgraded NAF medical facilities and established both primary and secondary schools across NAF units in the country. Furthermore, a youth empowerment scheme was initiated under the Barrack Youth Empowerment through Agriculture Programme to help dependants of NAF personnel to become self-reliant.
The new blocks were named after some personnel who lost their lives in the course of their service to the country. They include late Master Warrant Officers Zabesan H, Atama AP and Warrant Officers Sababa J and Onah M. Others were Flight Sergeants Warres E, Awodi EA, Hassan TM and Sergeants Mohammed SM, Karatu LA, Ebute GE and Umar A. In addition, Corporals Timon PM, Deshi W, Tanko DJ, Chigonti AH, and Lance Corporals Garaga G, Umar RI, Ishaya AV, Taofik ZS and Mbam EN were honoured. Similarly, blocks were named after Aircraftman Joseph A, James SG, Jamilu I and Ofonih EE.

There is nothing impressive here. Look at Chad. They bought advanced Russian BVR air-to-air missiles for their airforce in 2016.
This is a country we are literally feeding

You just proved your argument of Nigeria having only 20 T-72s wrong, first deliveries of this tank started in February 2015 by air, An 225 made 3 round trips to Kano airport, these deliveries were by Czech company Excalibur group. Later on dear year T-72 Av came by sea from Ukraine (confirmed by their own MOD). Add these to the 20 SIPRI managed to track.

I still don't believe Nigeria will order just 3 JF17 thunder.

12 Mi35 from Russia.
Plan to order 12 super tucano from US but 3 now coming get from Brazil
20 drones
11 super mushtak from pakistan

So why 3 JF17 thunder?

Was it not the same budget that claimed we were getting 4 Mi35M but later turn out to be 12?

Uganda only has 50K soldiers

Less men = more money for equipment

Hence why I said it was bad for Nigeria to expand the army to over 100,00 and why I argued for a reduction in the size of the landward arm of the SANDF

T-72av's total from Ukraine are 23 - 25, total exports to Nigeria. Nigerian government panel confirms around 50 T-72s in all.

I don't see the D-30s listed either in the report.

Nigeria is in a diffenrent situation. First keep in mind western embargo, otherwise Nigeria will be operating stuff like Boeing Vertol CH-46 Sea Knight, our wesland lynx, jags and others would be still active C130 fleet and everything and we will not waste money "rebuilding them" because what we are doing is not fixing them the money we are spending on them is huge... But instead using this cash to acquire more + 20 brand new A29 ... And we will not be going for JF-17 tge F-16 stuff didnt started today the airforce wanted western jet since but never got one... Our trainers are all western trainers...
For the number of soldiers the opposite will be dangerous. Nigeria is fighting on 2 opposite front at the same time, south south and north east. We some exchange of fire in Kaduna south, Adamawa, Zamfara. There are terrorist all over west africa in Burkina, Mali, Niger... We have groups like Hesbollah who has a group in Nigeria, other terrorist groups like Ansaru and who knows, we have Biafran Psychopat, we have a small budget in defense ( this is not appropriate) but we understand when you look at the size of the country:economy, agriculture, education etc... The number of soldiers is just one of the good things the military did.. And Nigeria is not the size of belgium, sambisa forest has the size of belgium. Nigeria is massive.

The only area in Nigeria were there is active, large scale military operation ongoing is the N.E.

Nothing of such exists anywhere else in the country apart from soldiers supporting regular police in flash point areas.

Patrols in the South-South are routine naval or military patrols out at sea or in the creeks. In the South-East, nothing of such exists.
