The man is really working hard.
Its not easy to run three ministries concurrently.
The government suppose to take one of the ministry from him to ease the work load.
Works/Housing and Power should be stand alone ministries.
If fashola isn't greedy, he should have rejected one or two positions but greed no gree am because, more position, more money and less effort

greed is the main problem in nigeria...

all of us are infected with it....they gather money in accounts but dont invest it...

maybe its gives them a hard on to see the money grow in accounts... undecided

This man should have done the honourable thing since and resigned. I don't hate Fashola but the statement he made about a serious govt fixing power within 6months shot him in the foot.
I really don't know why he accepted that portfolio. It's a dent to his image.

I love Fashola as a govt of Lagos State but as a Minister of power... It's a NO NO.
Fashola please act fast I still want to hold on to that beautiful memory of yours.

Welcome to privatisation.

Yes...it isn't govt's fault...either the precceding or the current one...it is your local disco's fault.

And the reason is simple...they were not set up to be charity companies, they were set up to be profit making companies.

And here is the sad thing...if Fashola should listen to you....he would have to take over the whole thing again...meaning that govt would have to pay the DISCOS huge compensation....to prevent them from going to court over the matter. And govt does not have that kind of money now.

When GEJ's government was kindly calling for Nigerians opposed to privatisation back in 2014 to speak up, you Nigerians kept your mouths shut. Govt then took that as a yes to privatise. Now...here we are.

You obviously have no clue what PROGRESS means.
Maybe you should be in Cuba where monile phones were only authorised in 2008

what you people need to understand is,you have to pay your bills...

i always pay my bills in time..and i mostly have light...

if a area dont pay that much, then the area will not get light if their is shortage for whatever reasons.....

i even have light now since yesterday morning...when they will cut it again??...i dont know, and i realy dont care......

i store electricity and have a good inverter...

and that the power has falling down to only 1000mw is a online lie........

their is a guy on nairaland that gives update on electricity output...only 1000mw can not be true...

but who in the world would borrow nigeria that amount of moneyhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuh

The most ignorant individual? What are the proofs you have to show he doesnt know jack about the Power sector he is handling.

I can give you links to where Fashola spoke on Power supply its challenges and the steps he is taking to improve the situation.

Under his watch the power grid collapsed to zero

Has power supply ever been this bad?

Be honest and answer correctly

Good question.

The power grid has collapsed to 0 I think twice as it was reported. But would you also say you dont want to read the reasons that was given for the failure or you are just more interested in holding someone responsible without giving the person a chance?

Would you say you are not aware of the Ministry's effort to improve transmission, create liquidity in the sector by paying off debts, giving new licenses to operators to build solar panels, settling court disputes that have impeded construction works of power plants and transmission grids from taking off and many numerous plans?

Have you also read Fashola's piece on his plans for energy mix for the country?

Bro, let me tell you. News on Fashola that speaks on his achievements, plans and ongoing projects doesnt make news headlines or trend because people are more interested in seeing who they are going to hang or abuse, so I cant fault you if you are not aware of what Fashola is doing in his ministry.

What infrastructure did our government build for telecoms before mobile licences were given by OBJ?
Are the private oil companies not the ones that have built infrastructure in the industry all these years?
Have YOU petitioned your legislators about the need to provide INCENTIVES and penalties that are enforced so that the private companies can build MORE infrastructure? Or why do you think we pay our senators, representatives and state lawmakers so much money huh
Nationalisation is definitely not the solution as it will only take us back decades.
Government has no business doing business.
Everyone's business is no one's business, surely.
Or can you list any government business that has been consistently successful over 20 years huh

Building power plants or transmission grids wont happen in 30 days and it would also not take forever. There is a deadline to when these projects would come on stream and improve power supply. So it wont take forever! It would only take some time.

I dont see where I mentioned hate. My point is that you said he should have rejected one portfolio which is not suppose to be a good advise.

Fashola did well in Lagos State because apart from he knows what he is doing, he is SOLELY in charge.

But in power as in PHCN, he has little or no knowledge about it (correct me if I am wrong) and these cabal even if his intentions are good are not going to make it easy for him. Hence my advise.

If some certain Building power plants or transmission grids would take sometime, he should communicate this to well meaning Nigerians. Periodically I.e 5 day more before so,so and so...
I mean this is one of his best characteristics while he was leading in Lagos State.

However he has accepted. He needs to curb the problem fast! Because I know that left for Fashola Nigerians would be having light 24/7 by now.

He needs to manage these cabal before they manage him and destroy the reputation he has built over the years.

I wish him all the best and I pray and hope that the good memory I/we have about him remain fresh.

No ma'am. The statement in bold is wrong.

This is a video link, it's long but if you can please watch
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1PgymqF8RAg

A man who doesnt have knowledge of how it works wont be able to expertly answer questions on the myriads of challenges plaguing the power sector.

But if you can't watch the video, here is an article on how he intends to improve power supply.

http://www.nigeriaelectricityhub.com/2016/05/06/full-speech-fashola-unveils-fgs-road-map-for-solving-nigerias-power-crises/

My point is this, the problems are not beyond him. They are mostly human-related and administrative issues which he is capable of handling.

Yes the cabal is there. Fuel marketers and generator importers would lose so much if Power is fixed, but if Fashola wont take up the challenge, who will?

I am not worried about his image because it wont be tarnished. His efforts at what he is doing would always be on record for everyone who cares to follow his works to see.

For me, if he doesn't make much progress in Power, then I don't know if we can ever get it right in this country. But I follow what he does, read every article published about him or his interviews (both media and print) and I believe he is on the right part.

It's just a matter of time smiley smiley
