Hello people.. If you need to exchange naira at Travelex. please come with the following photocopies else your application wouldn't be treated; *Visa *Ticket *BioData page of passport *Boarding pass *BVN card I had to run around for almost an hour before I got them ready. of course, getting them ready at the airport is expensive. so you will be better off doing them at home.. then, you can photocopy your boarding pass when you get it.. $1=375 at the airport wishing everyone expecting their visa a successful application. it will end in praise. God did it #openheavens #blessedandfavoured |

moneybag100:The applicant must have prepared well for the visa, given the impressive documents highlighted. You just have to do your best to convince the VO you're qualified for a visa, by proving to them that your tie is strong enough at home and you won't embrace any opportunity which may encourage your staying back in canada after your mission. Applying for a visa entails enough preparation. It's like an exam, for which you must be well prepared, for an excellent result. Unfortunately, most of us Nigerians like cutting corners. If you're a salary earner and you know you want to travel in future without hitches, you should save money and start investing in property from the onset. There are legitimate ones for as low as 700k/plot. Buy like 2 plots and keep the papers. They're vital visa documents. Everything is planning. It could take you a few years but it will pay off, eventually. Put your money you're not spending, in bank fixed deposits, get the certificate and keep. Build up a call account for a short term investment, buy into shares and keep the certificates. All these added together alongside other docs on their visa checklist, will give you a boost in your future visa applications. You give the VO everything and let them choose what they want lol. There's a reward in planning, not only for visa but in everything you do. That's what makes the western countries look more organised than us in africa...they plan. 2 Likes |

careerwoman:Travelex is a big scam my sis . They're playing world class politics there. I think the owner should own more than 2 mansions at banana island by now. Let me share with you, my experience with travelex. I travelled last November. I needed 5k USD under the business traveller category. After fulfilling all the requirements, I was there as early as 8am but they were not open. Around mid day, they surfaced asking us to queue up which we did. They brought out a fake list and asked us to cross check. Meanwhile, the security had asked us to pen down our names before they arrived. Travelex were meant to have arrived much earlier than 12 mid day. They claimed they ran into traffic which lasted hours. I was told they did same the previous day. In short, they started with delay tactics. Those whose flights were being announced had to leave the queue. I was with travelex till 4pm. My flight with BA was around 11pm. I left the queue to do other things in town. By the time I came back, those who were on queue were said to have left in annoyance because it took travelex almost 1 hour to attend to 2 travellers, pretending to be checking and confirming papers in the process. I got back to MMIA around 7pm to check-in my luggage. I joined the queue afterwards. Amazingly, some of those who were on same queue with me earlier were still there unattended. My flight was called and I left the queue. I had to go get forex at black market rate at the nearest BDC, just beside travlex kiosk and left them. Meanwhile, before I left them, travelex staff told us they'd soon close for the day. In total, I doubt if they were able to attend to more than 20 travellers that day. My question was, what happened to the remaining dollars unsold? It must have been diverted and sold to mallams at 450/460USD, of course. The best bet is to go to banks and get forex, if your docs are complete now that they've been authorised by the CBN to sell. My account officer called me recently in case I'd need forex. She said I'd have to apply 2 wks to my departure so they could compile list and process it and it's certain I'd get forex. This is much better than the dubious travelex. I'm really upset with them 3 Likes |

awelekiti: True talk there. They indeed act all of these movies, couldn't get from them too (even with all the make believe "you nearly got it" film) both in November and January, deliberate slow-motion lot they are. The banks are our best option currently even if they were way worse off than same travelex in the era in focus here. Told they are currently on target as regards PTA/BTA Imagine oh! |

Good evening everyone ,please I need some honest advice on what to do regarding my canada application. I applied via paper route on 12th of February and I got a message to Pick up my processed passport at VFS on 9th of March, unfortunately I was denied and the reason marked for the denial was " I am not satisfied that you have answered all questions truthfully, as required by subsection 16(1) of the Act .Specifically,I am not satisfied that the following information is truthful : You have not answered truthfully to section background ,questions 2b)....when I checked to see where that section background(2b) was, it was where asked if have been denied visa before by any country and I said No ,but have been denied by US,to be honest ,as commonly said ,that experiencen is the best teacher ,that didn't work for me this time l think, because when I was about to fill my form I told a friend of mine that works with a traveling agency and at a point when filling the form ,I contacted him countless times when I needed clarifications at any point ,so he told me to tick the No box for the aforementioned reason for denial and Becos I think he was experience I did as he told me and said No,he said since the time I was denied US visa isn't 6months or more ,it won't be available for US for now . Please my question now is that is there a way out ? Though I'm married but I applied alone ,because my wife won't be able to travel with me due to her masters education that's taking much of her time and I really want to travel to celebrate Easter in Canada .please to all Ogas here I need your advice @ awelekiti ,jayfierce , kokorita, ladyco and other experienced gurus |

Hi guys lets say your estimated cost of visiting canada is 2m, do you have to have at least 2m in all the monthly bank statements you submit in your application? Or you need to have the 2m in the most current statement? In other words, 6 months bank statements are required right? Do I need to have at least 2m in all the 6 months or in just the final (most recent) month. Edit: I just noticed that my checklist says 4months bank statements. However going by the posts here, most people submit 6months. Thanks a lot. Cc jayfierce |

@ jerry. Sorry about your refusal. But on the 12th of February is on a Sunday. If am not mistaking . Or do VFS open on Sunday or do you mean 12 th February 2016. Well it's just unfortunate that a mail wasn't sent to you by the VO to explain to them why you said NO. Before they decide Whether to grant or refuse you the visa . In your application of not been refused a usa visa. And I wonder why you will use an agent when all information you need is on this forum. We have said it times without numbers. USA and CANADA share information on applicant forms and supporting documents. i was refused a visiting visa to the uk as far back as 2006. But during my application to Canada I told them the truth, that I was once refused a visa. Shikina. My dear friend my humble advise is if you decided to reapply. You need to convince them why you ticked No instead of Yes. . Maybe an apology letter explaining its was an oversight, i dnt know if an immigration lawyer is needed to draft the letter for you. Gurus in the house can hint more on information needed. 1 Like |

@ fort. You dnt need to have "at least 2million " in your 6 months or 3 months bank statements. You need to have more cash. You need to prove to the VO that you still have cash n investment in Nigeria while you spend your proposed 2 million Naira during you stay in Canada. Also you need to do a person statement explaining yourself and reason for the trip and how you will spend your 2 million. Itenary plan too. Will help. Are you been invited or hotel reservations. Also no artificial inflows into your account this will raise a red flag. Also submit your salary bank account. They always want to be convinced you have a job. All the best in ur application. 1 Like |

Hello house, my colleague applied for a Canada visiting visa , she said she click NO to question on whether she has been married before.tho she presently married. The issue here is that the name of her husband in her usa application is different from the Canada application. She applied for usa in 2014. And used married so as to guarantee her self visa which she got. The conflict here is that her usa n Canada application is showing two different name as husband. Will she have said yes to have been married before. Cous she has no documents to prove it. Cous usa dnt collect documents. Pls advise she needs my update urgently. Thanks house |

kokorita: Thanks for your suggestions ,have been thinking of using an immigration lawyer as well,I guess my ignorance caused me this, lesson learned the hard way lol,I didn't use an agent ,this special adviser like the advisers the present administration have that mislead me is a friend that works for a travleing agency and I got to stumble on this section of canada when application was submitted already, but now with the little have learnt here,I can even be an agent lol, have learnt a lot, thanks to all that has been helping in one way or the other. By the way my application was submitted on 13th of February, not 12th as written earlier, thanks for pointing that out ..Can I reapply as soon as possible ? |

Jerrymax01:It's good to see you here. Like I mentioned in my earlier message, instead of sending me a PM, it's better you share your experience here in this forum, not only for me to advise where necessary but also to enable the experienced people in the house to also guide and advise you where. Nobody has a monopoly of knowledge. BTW, it's unfortunate you landed yourself in the hands of an unscrupulous agent in the first place. Even if you were not aware of the fact that Canada shares info with US, you were not supposed to have lied in the first place. Honesty is the best policy. If you said the truth and you were denied visa, it's much better. You could be granted if you choose to reapply in future. I'm 100% sure that, if any potential visa applicant could read from the beginning of this thread to the last word, such an applicant doesn't need an agent because the information herein is more than enough to guide you. In my opinion, you don't need an agent if you can read every post into-to. However, I honestly don't know what to tell you in this regard because your chances of getting a USA visa in future is even slim, since Canada and USA share data info. Maybe you should write the embassy and apologise. Tell them an agent was involved and he told you to lie. You might need to go to the police and obtain a certificate of good behaviour to support your letter...honestly, I'm not giving you 100% assurance that this would be looked into. It's unfortunate! 1 Like |

Can I reapply as soon as possible and add the things you and Kokorita suggested I add or I should write the apology letter first and attached the letter of good behavior obtained from a police station?? |

@ cherip. Thanks. Lol but your response sounds funny tho. But her fear is that will she be refused visa. She has no documents to show she was married to her claimed first husband. But she has full prove and court documents to show she's married to her real hubby which she applied with. |

Good day everyone one, God bless you all for sharing useful information here.please l need your advice. After reading jerrymax 's comment on ticking no instead of yes. I was surprised and quickly checked the copy of the application form l submitted. l ticked no after reading "have you ever been refused a visa to Canada' and did not see 'or any other country'.truly speaking l didn't see it if not l would have stated it. maybe because l assumed it's like USA application form that asks for USA only without other countries. I know U.K. asks in their form which l always tick yes with reason. My only visa denial was U.K. like 8 yrs ago and l later got 6months,2years and presently 5 yrs now, l also have valid US visa. Do l need to write the embassy if yes what is the email address. Thank you all. Please respond to my question |

kokorita: KOKORITA, no one can actually guess what the outcome might be...but God knows better. if she got the favor to explain, she must go clean and explain what happened...since there is no document to show for the first union...then, it is easy to defend. |

Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Nobody: 6:08pm On Mar 12, 2017 |
kokorita:This still bills down to what I've been saying. Why lie in the first place? Hah! Let me say this clearly, if you lied about your application and you got caught, not only have you shut doors of visa opportunities to your self, you've also done so to several innocent visa applicants. Enough of all these bikonu. Let me clarify one thing here, whether you're single or married, it doesn't do anything in boosting your visa chances. If you're qualified for one, regardless of your marital status, you'd surely get it. I know both countries share info but not sure if they go as deep as checking marital status. If US had granted your friend a visa in time past, maybe CIC wouldn't dig into details but, to be on a safe side, it's good to always come clean, regardless of the outcome of the visa application. Refusal isn't the end of the road. It may be that you need to clearly or address a point raised and if you do so in your next application, you could get your visa. |
