Then DISCOnect them from the contract now and look for long lasting solution! Until these guys park their foolishness and enter a wisdom car, by now, each region should be generating it's power instead of the NATIONAL GRID brouhaha! Ordinary common sense! |

three:the yorubas said a name given to a person often determines the destiny of such a person.now u name a company Gencos..that means the company will make u all use generators...you name a company discos...you all will experience light supply like disco lights off and on ...and most importantly deem.so why complain dumb and daft...especially coming from a yoruba minister..abi na omo ale jati jati ?#justasking# |

In my opinion I think the only way to make them sit up is if every house has a prepaid meter you only pay for what you consume. The biggest fraud in Gencos is the fact they can still collect bill using estimated billing system so they don't care if there is light or not they still get paid. |

As i see Discos i thought Baba was talking about the off and on Nepa light wey phcn dey give us and then Gencos na d generating set we use as substitute light. This govt is the least entity to talk about shame cos the govt is already in shambles. What more harm can be done that has not been done already? Even the off and on disco light nw na luxury |

At the end of the talk we will still achieve nothing as usual. |

Fashola should save us these grammars and ensure every house gets smart prepaid meters so that Nigerians can stop paying owo omogo to DISCOs. Even if that's the only thing he's able to achieve we'll accept that rocket science is above his ability. We are tired of unfulfilled expectations from govt and it's better we generate power ourselves via our generators like we've been doing instead of continuously paying for darkness. And if he's afraid of doing the right thing by dealing with the saboteurs in power sector then he should resign and stop playing to the gallery with his grammars. |

This is what you get when privatise public assets but instead of selling to responsible firms, they Now the current govt has to sit back and pray for the useless private owners to do something meaningful cos reversing the privatisation will lead to another 10 year of litigations which will stagnate every effort to improve the nation's power supply. Nigeria na wa! |

All dis hip-hop names na to confuse Nigerians and all Nigerians are interested in is where is d lights una promised us? |

TheFreeOne:But isnt that what the DISCOs are supposed to do?... Isnt that the responsibility of the DISCOs and isnt that why the minister has just said the DISCOs are embarrassing the govt by not doing their job? Govt sells power conpanies to private establishments but every year, the govt still gets to budget money to bail out the private companies. |
| Re: Discos, Gencos Bringing Shame To Govt – Fashola by obailala(m): 9:27am On Mar 24, 2017 |
Nbote:Govt sells power companies to private firms. Private firms refuse to function but every year still run back to govt to get free bailouts. Govt takes the blame for the darkness cos na govt we know. |

daniella04:This is exactly where the govt is failing. Failure to enact a law that prevents DISCOs from giving estimated bills. If the govt gives the discos an ultimatum of say, 6 months to stop estimated billing, I'm sure the useless discos will either sit up or die out. |

...This over-hyped mediocre called Fashola should keep shut and take several seats.. ...Incompetent 'rocket science' crooner complaining and blaming everything and everyone but himself.. ...If he is complaing about discos, what is the masses supposed to do? ...Niger-Delta Avengers have stopped bombing yet nothing, rains come and go, same thing.....buhar/apc and their ministers are all epic failures..period. |
| Re: Discos, Gencos Bringing Shame To Govt – Fashola by TheFreeOne: 9:46am On Mar 24, 2017 |
obailala:It is the responsibility of government to wield the big stick if DISCOs aren't doing their job. GEJ gave them 2 years to provide prepaid meters to all Nigerian household but they failed and present administration has given them about same period of time. So it's the government that is embarrassing itself by not doing the needful. And government should stop bailing out these incompetent fraudsters. If they aren't capable to perform they should sell their interests / investment to those that have the wherewithal to do so. But unfortunately everything in naija is paddy paddy hence the present situation we found ourselves. |

Re-acquire and decentralize the National grid system. Allow state govts and individuals to generate power. |
| Re: Discos, Gencos Bringing Shame To Govt – Fashola by obailala(m): 9:53am On Mar 24, 2017 |
TheFreeOne:If the govt doesnt bail them, we get total blackout nationwide; and everyone blames the govt cos na govt we know. And again of the govt decides to weild the big stick and reverse the privatisation, the establishments will take the govt to court, and while it takes another 10 years to conclude the litigations, there would be a standstill in the power sector (blackout) and govt still gets all the blame cos na govt we know. So you see why its a delicate situation? |

Who are the people behind this two company they should trace them to know their Identity..The power privatization was a complete mess. Am sure papa Atitku was the head of privatization committee then..They just did wuruwuru thing only for Nigerians to be suffering for the consequences of their wuruwuru now...Govt should revoke their licence |
