'Themselves' is a reflexive pronoun. It is impossible for people to wed themselves. Op ought to have used the reciprocal pronoun -each other. Two people can't wed themselves please. They can only wed each other. I opened a thread on the use of the reflexive pronoun 'themselves' and the reciprocal pronouns 'each other' and 'one another' sometime ago but unfortunately it didn't make front page. Opening another thread on this wouldn't be a bad idea.
