The Nigerian Music Industry needs an Academy Award period. Take a look at the US, the Grammy's only nominate song and artist with good lyrics and musical value. |

GetUmad: Seriously bruh, I love your comment bout Naija pop, I don't really like em, but sometimes just to like chill or hear stuffs to make me alright I listen to them, seriously exclusion of no artist in Naija all their lyrics is wack, I've not seen anyone even the so called superstar Wizkid, but because them be our people we go hear them, and marketing stuffs. you dig? The US rappers too have wack lyrics, seriously except the likes of Jay Z, Chance the Rapper, Kanye, Nas, Maybe Drake sha and Eminem, Kendrick Lamar . All this other rappers too been wack, I listen to trap music and I know how wack Young Thug, Travis Scoot and Lil Uzi Vert lyrics are. to the extent that I read a write up that Bill Gates wants to offer Young Thug $9.5Million or something like that to stop music. Why because lyrics are wack is all about weed and puss.y and illegal money. His voice sounds pale and sick and that's his selling point. ![]() |

GetUmad:No vex say I quote the whole thing. You nailed it. I was expecting to see Yemi Alade's Tumbum Tumbum nonsense, but e no spoil sha.PS: "My number one tuntun" means "My new number one". But it still doesn't change the fact that our artistes' lyrics are outright argots. |

Day2logic:Don't quote me if you cannot say anything sensible. What is your own definition of hypocrisy cos mine is you cannot say artists sing Rubbish songs or lyrics that do not make any sense but goes offline to play the same song and know the lyrics off hand.Cause nobody Checks the lyrics of any song without liking and playing the song. And For your claims that Chris brown makes sensible songs? Stop being ridiculous |

suzan404:Does criticism go in hand with hatred Seriously you need to wise up He wrote how he feels about this musicians and Nigeria music have a long way to go, forget commercial singers. Skin Tight was given an award with one of the best organising annual music award, take a glance at the lyrics and compare to Chance the Rapper songs and Adele songs given award by American Grammy Awards. No offence Tho, cause I too do listen to Eazi Songs, I've his Accra to Lagos Mixtape Album on my playlist so no hate ![]() |

| Re: Five Most Overrated Nigerian Artistes by howfarwhatagwan: 9:13pm On Mar 31, 2017 |
hahahaha very funny comments seriously you didn't include Wizkid? Include him and the list is complete. If there is a song I cannot stand it is Daddy Yo, gosh what in the world was he singing? Now on a serious note many musicians in Nigeria are overrated just as many American musicians are also overrated. It is different strokes for different folks. I think the moment you understand that there is a music for different moods you won't find some musicians actually intolerable. For example some songs are just good for that moment when you want to be a deep thinker and enjoy music while some do the magic when you want to just relax and not be serious. All the same it is important to at least make some sense but if they don't and the rythm and beat does the magic then it is still entertainment. As for me give me my Brymo and 2 baba anytime, any day and any moment. |
| Re: Five Most Overrated Nigerian Artistes by GetUmad: 9:14pm On Mar 31, 2017 |
Adiwana: Stop being ridiculous! I googled and pasted Eazi and Tecno's Lyrics here not cos I jam them and know them but because I have accidentally had opportunities (sometimes, helplessly) of listening to different songs they offered without being able to align with just a particular one with meaningful lyrics. Same thing with the people that pasted Chris brown's or whoever. It doesn't mean we all listen or admire them. What the guy up there is saying is factual only if you could reason with him. No one is hating anyone, that someone do drugs, get rich and empower his immediate community doesn't change the fact that he's into drugs. No matter those people's achievements through their acts, it's still doesn't change the fact that they are wack. Lil' Wayne is one of the richest US hip hop artist. Does it change the fact that his lyrics are lewd? Who's now hypocrite? |

Simitrendy:That's the point! You listen to it, we all do, though not deliberately . Whether you like it or not it's all over our face. You hear it everywhere and by chance, it might have even unfortunately become one's anthem. Does it change the fact that they're wack? That's the point most people are missing. |
