A very welcomed development.. This I can relate to though when you've worked with any of the IRS before

The University should have remitted the money since they've been doing the deductions from the staff

Who knows how many contracts the University staff must have lost due to the institution not remitting this to BIRS.. it's just not fair

Almost everything in Nigeria isn't fair though they're dark.. Probably the weather contributes too

I asked me questions recently Why should Nigerians pay Tax, to fill Senators Pockets, for the gov. officials to go to developed countries and chill etc

Its unfortunate we are still sleeping in Nigeria else this Nonsense won't be happening

3, most people lack credibility and integrity in business dealings
4. Trust is a scarce comodity
5.too much levied payment without commensurate impact on your businesses
6.Poor or no power supply and most times the light may not be able to power your equipment

For poultry business I doubt if you are producing on large scale whether you can have the market rater you may look outside the state for market

You have all these business levies gazzeted and ungazzetef which you pay yearly "very ridiculous and exhorbitant ,and at most times court injunctions and thuggery used to collect paymen
Also the weather is not very friendly ,hit weather over 39 degrees
So put all these into consideration in your business plan's

is good to know the pay is due only yearly and not monthly if I got you correctly.
I never knew makurdi have the menace of touts harrasin business owners for illegal monetary favour like Lagos.
the court injunctions so authorities go to court to fortify their claim and right,that's serious.

I agree with all your angles,but am curious to know the few that has survive there and still surviving are doing it,especially in the area of electricity,heat,sales,obtaining raw materials etc

You need to be on ground at least 80-90% minotoring to ensure success, also business that can thrive. Despite these constraints is transportation. In and outside. The state.

About that transportation aspect I would say to an extend, makurdi is fair compared to the various states I have dwelled in.If u have dwelled in places like lagos,ekiti,abia state u will know what I mean.

The gas is OK,but you really need to have regular supply and st good price to male profits

Those are really uncommon ventures that have not been tapped and explored completely.
it's a matter of time,I believe makurdi is gradually embracing modern lifestyle.
I observed that when I visited the place last quarter of last year.
They are picking up gradually and the folks that have the opportunity with financial capital are fast seizing the opportunities.

You are right ,the politicians with cash have their hands in all the juicy business in town especially jpspitapity business springing up here and there, my concern and fear is that too much of hotels around and state does not have tourism potential
Another profitable business that Will thrive is juice processing with the state having good variety|species of oranges and mango
This feat is capital intensive,I learnt a juice processing plant exist in the state but not functioning for over sometime
This would have been a good investment for the state to earn revenue

I know of few non indigenes that was wasted while at the peak of their biz...best thing there while making waves there is to keep a low profile and not show off,cos security is not guarantee there,hope you know the menace of cultism there.

Menace of culto,- I have being waiting for you to mention that since our discourse ,its like buying handkerchief from aboki ,almost every young teen and adults ( 25-45) age bracket are not left out its a dog eat dog scenario over there .you nerd to identify these people in town so you don't mistep cause they are brutal,

sincerely living there seeing young folks being lured in to cultism with mirage promises was really heartbreaking.couldn't help seeing young promising guy losing focus,purpose.it's a sad reality.

I just read through the link now.
I think this jamb hassle this year is a national issue.They didn't make adequate preparation for the changes made and those guys are finding it had to blend with.
Some states are going through same rough process but I guess maybe theirs has not caught media attention.
