Nice Nigerian Army video from the shooting range in Sambisa forest

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXgpee6mNOg
If the Army were smart they would turn part of Sambisa into what we have at Lohatla, by the sounds of things Sambisa is big and sparsely occupied.

Setting aside 100 000+ hectares for brigade level maneuvers and building up an adjacent training facility for more tactical training would be a massive boost for the Army.

The facility could be modelled on the Russian 333rd Training Center (Alabino) which caters specifically to the training of entire Brigades - from small unit tactics to overall maneuvers. You just cycle formations through the base on an annual or biennial basis.

That's not the main Gun....
I bilieve that questions has been asked before about our Humvees and some APCs... And my answer would be, its one of those things you (end up) learning by experience as you go....(There is a swahili saying that loosely translates to, He who is not taught by his mother will be taught by the Universe)

Anyway, the main gun is a 12.7 -13.0mm 50cal

The most recent modification (They must have learnt a Lesson from the battlefield) I have seen is a bulletfoof shield for the driver as shown in pic 3 & 4 used by RSF and SF
Something our SF will have to modify on the Agrale Marrua

Ye gods! A LT studying to be a military attache! How many ranks is he planning to jump over? There must be something very special about "Nemesis" from Charles company! grin grin grin
i had the same question grin

but i did not ask becz i thought some countries might have different rules/procedures

military attache is a high profile job which requires considerable experience including already acquired desired linguistic skills which comes only with requisite seniority / operational profile

and AFAIK intended military attaches r never sent for training abroad (always inhouse training ), too high a security risk of getting compromised .

There should be a 30min video summarizing the highlights of the day for all the days the excersize was going on.... done by DoD themselves...... When you leave it to the media people to cover the excersize they will just end up airing a 2-3min video for the evening news...
Nice video though
There has to be a total re-engineering of military multimedia in Africa. I have seen instances in Nigeria were those in-charge of making the documentary videos, totally screw the whole thing up.

I have also seen instances were the people in-charge of handling Nigerian military multimedia media platforms post images sourced from this thread here in Nairaland.

There has to be a total built up structure to support proper information sharing. Apart from the Nigerian Air Force, I sincerely wonder what he rest of the armed services do with all the photos and videos they take. They always have cameramen with them during exercises or operational duties.

TROOPS ARREST TWO BOKO HARAM SPIES, ANOTHER HIGH PROFILE TERRORIST SURRENDERS

On Tuesday, 28th March 2017 at about 10.00am based on information 2 suspected Boko Haram terrorists carrying out surveillance on Kareto and Dangalti villages were apprehended by troops of 158 Task Force Battalion of 5 Brigade, Nigerian Army. Preliminary investigation shows that the apprehended spies were on recconaisance mission to facilitate possible attack on the communities by Boko Haram terrorists.

Similarly, one Bulama Kailani Mohammed Metele from Tumbun Bera, a confessed Boko Haram terrorist belonging to Mamman Nur's faction of the terrorists group under the leadership of Abu Mustapha, apparently tired of the lies his commanders, surrendered himself to troops of 145 Task Force Battalion, 5 Brigade, troops at Damasak.

It has been confirmed that the surrendered suspect, Bulama Kailani Mohammed Metel, was a high profile terrorist as he is at Serial number 253 on the Nigerian Army's Wanted Boko Haram terrorists poster produced recently. He is currently undergoing further interrogation.
You are please requested to disseminate this information to the public through your medium.

Thank you for your kind cooperation.

I'm not surprised at their Military dexterity, they've been a military power(superpower if i may add) since time immemorial.

Biblically, they're known to possess the largest fleets of Battle chariots and horses to the extent that just the (Artificial) sounds of their chariots sent commotion and fear that made the siege by the Assyrians(just hope i'm right with the name) on Samaria broken.

So, what i'm driving at is that, their Military prowess and capabilities didn't start today.

The Sudanese Air Force is taking part in the drills with 24 aircraft including MiG-29 Fulcrum, Su-25 Frogfoot and Su-24 Fencer jets as well as Mi-17 Hip helicopters.

https://theaviationist.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Blue-Shield-13-706x470.jpg
Taking part in Blue Shield-1 exercise are also 24 Sudanese aircraft, including these Su-25 Frogfoots.

Sudan’s Air Force Su-25s and MiG-29s based at Merowe Air Base.

Blue Shield -1 exercise is the very first aerial exercise between the two nations therefore it represents an interesting opportunity for the RSAF pilots to train flying with and aganist Russian “hardware.”

Interestingly, the RSAF hasn’t deployed any twin seaters to Sudan, which will not give the Sudanese any chance for orientation rides aboard the Saudi “western” aircraft.

The Saudi F-15S and Typhoons have taken part in the air strikes in Yemen, as part of Operation Decisive Storm, the Saudi Arabian-led intervention in Yemen, since Mar. 26 2015. A RSAF F-15S crashed in the Gulf of Aden during the opening day of the air war; its two pilots ejected safely and were recovered from the sea by a USAF HH-60G rescue helicopter. Although Houthi and Iranian sources stated that the Eagle was shot down, Saudi and Arab coalition authorities denied such reports.

Those deployed to Sudan are the “legacy” Eagle, less advanced than the “S” and F-15SA, derived from the F-15E Strike Eagle, and the most modern Eagle variant ever produced: they are equipped with the APG-63V3 Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar, a digital glass cockpit, JHMCS (Joint Helmet Mouted Cueing System), Digital Electronic Warfare System/Common Missile Warning System (DEWS/CMWS), IRST (Infra Red Search and Track) system, and able to carry a wide array of air-to-air and air-to-surface weaponry, including the AIM-120C7 AMRAAM (Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile) and the AIM-9X Sidewinder air-to-air missiles, the AGM-84 SLAM-ERs, the AGM-88 HARM (High-speed Anti-Radiation Missile) and the GBU-39 SDBs (Small Diameter Bombs) on 11 external hardpoints.

The RSAF has received its first of 84 F-15SA at King Khalid Air Base (KKAB) in Saudi Arabia via RAF Lakenheath, on Dec. 13, 2016 (the day after the Israeli received their first 5th generation F-35I).

This doesn't seem right, it should be the fault of the Ghanaians then, also it is not just Buhari convoy, if you take your time to watch the first 5 mins of the video you'll notice that many of the cars had different flags including representatives from Gabon and even that signature armored chevi SUV from US embassy. I think all the VIPs attending were carted in at one go.

Nice video from Al Jazeera.

I love the fact that there is operational evidence that these vehicles are deployed. The recoil from the 12.7mm is also so minimal it is almost non-existent.

I thought the vehicle would be rocking so hard.

Proper capability exercise shown by the Nigerian Army, if only there was good documentation of the exercise in Sambisa.
