It's not by buying all the equipment and all, it's by knowing how to use them which I'm sure they lack. It's just like a rich man who has lots of cars in his garage and don't know how to drive. What will be his fate when something happens to him when he is home alone and nobody there to drive him to the hospital? I'm sure that's when he will realize that even 20 cars can't save him.

First of all don't exploit this story. It's unfair to the dead. Secondly you pissed me off with this whole UNIBEN brouhaha. It might interest you to know that all our Doctors are products of Federal universities as CU doesn't even offer medicine.

I would say it again. The CU Doctors are all products of Federal Universities so if they couldn't use available equipment it's then an indictment on the higher education sector of Nigeria.

Don't mind them jor.... I'm a graduate of uniben & I can tell you that uniben health centre don't have any equipment compare to cu. The nig health personnels can't even use modern health facilities.

It is well. May his soul rest in peace. We that are fit for the job wont have it o. God sha have mercy.

Although that you had menorrhagia does not mean that malaria and typhoid couldn't have been present too.

Also remember that menorrhagia sometimes might not influence PCV. Because it might not have been long enough to affect PCV. Like cutting yourself and losing lots of blood would not affect PCV right away. In simple terms, you lost some blood volume, the blood that remains inside you has not been diluted yet to lower your PCV.

Since they checked your PCV, I'd believe they checked it for malaria parasites too.

They might have suspected that the severity of your anaemia could have multiple causes. Once it is clear that you do not have sickle cell and you are not otherwise malnourished. In the tropics, malaria is one of the most common causes. It is common things first. Though it might seem simple or repetitive from the patient's experience.

Pity that many healthcare professionals are said to be unfriendly in 9ja. If not, they should be explaining their procedures, tests, results, diagnoses and treatment plan to patients clearly. But then workers in most sectors are unfriendly:civil servants, police, armed forces, some bankers, barbers, even roadside sellers. All frequently show attitude.

Not knowing what is going on would make patients think they might be getting the wrong or unnecessary treatment.

Makes a lot of sense.

I could decide to gloat over your own "Moved on" blunder right now but i will act as an elder brother . Also, you can't compare English language to Basic Mathematics. The former is just a language not even superior to my Yoruba language, the latter on the other hand is a universal 'language' everyone in the world should and must understand.
If you tell me that i'm insufficiently educated because I'm not proficient with English language i could also say the same of you for not understanding French.

I'm getting news from CU students that the boy actually drowned and hit his head but I'm not sure about that guy putting the blame on CU though. You know rumour is rife in CU and many students would take to twitter even before hearing the real gist.. For Crawford Uni to use that same health center means there are good equipments there.

Thank you. I don't know why students do this. When I heard this story I immediately thought he must have dived and a person should know better because that pool lacks depth and is very shallow hence any head thrust into the pool is dangerous.
Anyway what Course are u currently studying? I would like to know the fees because of my friend who is coming over for PG studies in CU.

I really doubt a Doctor from John Hopkins would misdiagnose on a stretch na. You better don't kill urself or give your self high blood pressure over matter wet no concern you...

A John Hopkins doctor may struggle to diagnose even malaria because he won't be familiar with tropical medicine. These same graduates of state and federal universities excel in medicine outside Nigeria.

Your argument is that a person needs to be a graduate of a language to be proficient in that language and I say that's simply preposterous. Beyond the issue, your line of argument is quite revealing.

I can say with all conviction that it is a BIG LIE, I took my wife to the hospital just last month and she got the best treatment and care from the doctors. People should be careful how they spread rumours specially when the name Christianity is involved.

Well you can only require infallibility in my proficiency and eloquence if i graduated from an English language department. However, even at that my proficiency would still be inferior to that of someone who graduated MSc from an English language department. Here, the problem is that you think proficiency is absolute but it is actually relative unless you could prove to me that you could give meaning to every single word in the dictionary.
Since most graduates stopped offering English language as a compulsory subject in High School. It simply means that the'Architects' of our educational system believed that the level of proficiency attained at that educational level was above basic and enough. I believe my English proficiency as it is, though not flawless is good enough to help me attain any professional height. If i ever need to write a book then i would seek the services of an editor after all the best selling writers in the world do seek for the services of editors.

We've had series of death cases in cu lately and all the fault goes to the school. That very day I was in the health center wen the boy was rushed down and yes I would say they tried their best but it wasn't good enough. Yes cu has lots of health center facilities but they are just for showcasing. They are not been used mainly because these doctors can't operate them or they don't av the right. The boy died not long after but to my greatest shock the chaplain was telling the doctor to write in the that the boy fell while playing basketball. Why does cu only like building their image they weren't even concerned about the death of the boy or his weeping parents. The truth is dat d boy drowned and hit his head in the swimming pool and there was no lifeguard to help him out even wen they finally brot him out and he was in coma, no ambulance to rush him to the health center. How unfortunate in a place where God is being mentioned the life of the students are treated as trash. Just watch out the only thing cu will do to dis case is to stop everyone from swimming instead of equipping the place with trained lifeguards and good equipments. May God av mercy on all of us here
