Back when I was young enough to imagine that death was a voluntary option available to the elderly alone, I would let off steam by driving my car well above 100mph on the freeway, snaking in and out of lanes to overtake lesser mortals, and relying on my radar detector to alert me whenever a California Highway Patrol cruiser was lying in wait up ahead behind a bill-board. Very often I would embark on those kamikaze speed missions while making my way home from night-skiing in the San Gabriel Mountains, where similar wild careening ensued earlier, as I flew down the slopes under light flurries of dry powder, right up until the ten pm closing time. Driving down towards the city one very rainy day up in the mountain passes, a gigantic, car-sized boulder tumbled down the hillside and smashed into the road just in front of my car after I hit the brakes hard to avoid getting squashed like a bug. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Another was that my primary school was very big, with lots of corridors, staircases and passageways (now that I think of it, it reminds me of Harry Porter). We used to play hide and seek in them. Anyway, I once had a sharpened pencil, with the tip inside my mouth. As i was running up a stairway to hide, there was this boy running down the same stairs. The next thing I knew, we collided, with the tip piercing my throat. Blood was just everywhere. My eldest sister was the headgirl then. They had to rush and get my mom, who rushed me to the hospital/ theater. I felt like a G when I returned to school. And I still carried first. 2 Likes |

nicko28: Mine was the 1st GCE exam dt I sat for in 2009. One have to go to d scl where u sat for d exams to check ur results den and d statement of results wud b posted to u later. I dressed well belivin in mysef dt i wud pass well. Alas, I got six F9's, Eng 8, govt 7, Yoruba C4. I dare nt go home wit d results. I had to rewrite d results! I claimed that my results was withheld for the six subjects dt I had F9... I passed all my papers later and have a masters degree to my kitty today. 2 Likes |

Well, I would say mine was bleeping a girl in an uncompleted building with people passing in a Sharia Practising State in one of the Northern States of Nigeria way back when I was doing my youth service. My bf called me that he was sick at night and I was staying with a friend in staff quarters, O.A.U. It was really dark and quiet and I trekked anyway with all the bats flying around and Bush everywhere. It was quiet scary. But I was more afraid when a young man offered to give me a ride. I had to choose between trekking in the dark, alone wondering if any perv is follow ing me or entering a stranger's car. I took the ride anyway, nothing bad happened. |
