If you are in the US or have relatives in the US trying to send money to naija, I will exchange the funds at 340/$, simply deposit into my US bank account and receive instant funding into your Nigerian account. Don't bother with western Union and co, they exchange at 355/$ with fees and the exchange rate drops to around 316/$... Contact in signature.. |

zedman1:You wont understand. A Chinese saying goes thus 几家欢喜几家愁 jǐ jiā huān xǐ jǐ jiā chóu - Some are happy, some have worries. Or one man’s disaster is another man’s delight. Thats to say the happy man profits from what is making the other man worry. Say im selfish....IDGAF |

naijaking1:On paper what u said might be right but in reality it's not so. We both know Nigeria don't produce shi shi for export. It's just recently exporting of Argo product is on the rise. How do you encourage export? To leave the dollar to shoot up to 1000 naira to a dollar? What CBN is doing is just a temp solution why we fix the issue of infrastructure that will help reduce the cost doing biz/production which also implies more goods to export. You tell them to stop the intervention and focus on exporting nothing |

naijaking1:Abi o. The CBN is running out of dollars trying to prop up the naira and they wonder why some investors have left--there is a scarcity of dollars. |

farouk0403:You can't because to do that you have to burn through your foreign reserves. It's not just a rate you set on paper. |

naijaking1:And, of course, little old unemployed you knows more than the experts in the CBN, with all their Yale and Harvard and Cambridge degrees and years of experience and armies of top notch consultants. In fact, if they really want to prop up the naira, they ought to make you CBN governor since you're so smarter than those fools in the CBN. |

There was no tight supply. Why tell us you supplied $313.5M when truly you supplied almost nothing. |

naijaking1:I totally agree with you. However, there is the need for an expedite and temporal corrective measure while the true measure is being put in place. We can't just sit down and watch dollar skyrocketing each and every successive day just like the skyrocketing effect on the Nigeria economy can not be neglected. This is a short term measure, I didn't dispute that but a necessary one. |
