Khd95:May God increase your wisdom. . Let us forget sentiments, they were issued a warning, they refused to leave. Without demolition and rebuilding how can we experience development.. |

"The feeling is their rights has be trampled upon, the fact is that it has to be" I await the day your rights are brutally trampled upon so the rest of us can separate our feelings from the facts. |

oyienootieno:That they were issued a warning is not the point, the point is what compensation did the government provide? |

ephi123:Good question, when l made a similar comment few weeks ago some lunatic came insulting me , telling me that lagos has to develop and if it means destroying and making people homeless it is fine, l disagreed and the guy was mouthing off and talking rubbish with insult to me because l aired a contrary view, a responsible, emphatic & caring government will look / think of ways to ameliorate / reduce the suffering the masses are going through and not add to it, why not provide succor, provide rent for 3, 4 or 6months to those who will be displaced by this action, we have the elderly, children, nursing mothers etc who are caught in this cross fire, and when you now describe or call the country a zoo , you are mobbed, nonsense, useless government ![]() |

Wicked and heartless government of the rich. What stops Ambode from compensating them with another roof on their head? This is one reason why I felt so bad that Jimi Agbaje lost the last gubernatorial election to Ambode. APC is nothing to right home about generally |

AngelicBeing:I can't even believe people think it is alright to displace people from their homes without any compensation - simply because they are not the ones affected, very selfish behaviour. I really do think we get the leaders we deserve. Lagos has to develop agreed but people's rights should not be trampled on. The Lagos state government should do the right thing, that's the least expected of them. |

seunmsg:Where is it done? Settlers laying came to a section of a state! Our Brothers in the Niger Delta has penchant for laying came to water side. Even in another man's land. Same everywhere along the West African coast. |

Some people here are novice about planning, instead of keeping their mouth shut they will come out openly to show their senseless by spewing thrash on social media. No sane government will demolish without prior notice. Some of our people are adamant and you will have to push them before they move. Now you will see them ranting and shouting of displacing them and they will not tell when the notice has been served. Though its painful but some would have leave before the demolition. Soon, the Lagos Government will come out with their version of the story and this will silence those that are acting as advocator without getting their fact. |

ephi123:l concur with you, we have a lawless, wicked, satanic, godless , inept, corrupt government both at the Federal & state level, they only specialize in one thing corruption and imposing hardship on the weak-masses. LifestyleTonite:1000 Likes ![]() |

ephi123:Are you saying they were not notified before. Let's wait for the Government response. You will have to push some of our people before the move. No sane government will demolish without prior notice. Wait and see |

codemaniacs:I'm sure you saw a child in that first picture, can't believe people can be this callous. That they are illegal settlements does not mean they should not be compensated. The govt should take responsibility for not performing their oversight function in permitting illegal structures in the first place rather than trying to push out already impoverished people to live where exactly ![]() |

Khd95:God bless you jare. Those people don't know living in the remotest village is more dignifying than living in slums. People should stop dehumanizing themselves just to live in logos. The government just did them a favor and they don't even realize it .though government and we'll meaning Nigerians have a part to play in rehabilitating this people |

180263:They are Nigerians, fellow citizens like you and me. They deserve respect and better treatment. It's unfair to push people out of their abode without providing an alternative. Very unfair. |

ephi123:please note compensation is not the term in this case as I'm sure none of those living in those horrible slums ever acquired a square inch of land. However I'm totally for rehabilitation of these people. Having slums is not healthy for the community in the slum, the general public and our image. That's why most Europeans or Americans thinks Africa is all about mosquitoes, malnutrition and cholera |

seunmsg:they left Niger Delta because Niger delta politicians failed them , militants are only fighting for their own pockets not for the people , .. No compensation for illegal settlements , that placd is a criminal home base , long over due , should have been demolished during tinubu tenure .. |
