You cannot stop children learning about sex, it's how we all got here.

What you can do is gradually introduce them to the biological facts of life and to encourage a healthy approach to sex. Making sex taboo is foolish and destructive. It's why AIDS/HIV and other venereal diseases are able to take hold.
See them, the sponsors.

Ngasky:
How did you effectively eradicate those diseases? Through so called safe sex or abstinence?
For your information no sex is safe even the so called condom doesn't give full protection and some diseases can be contacted through pre-intimacy,
And ask around whoever wants to have sex wouldn't stop because of no condom , how many people did sex on that belief of just this time the other partner is possibly negative?
lemme bend, maybe you should go and teach them asexuality
Re: Sexualization Of School Children by Fucktensei: 5:20pm On Apr 08, 2017
it's high time we start teaching two topics

1-Asexuality
2-Preventive measures e.g Contraceptives and condoms.

Because nowadays, abstinence has seem to become the worst option. why? If you talk about abstinence , only 18% will listen, but safe sex and contraceptive pill usage, you'll see that 82% will bank on that! Am speaking on behalf of all our future Shildren, they'll keep on having sex and nobody will stop them.. so it's better we contain it to avoid pathetic stories!

Neither did I. But we're caught up in it. It's the die hard truth whether we like it, or not.

You know ur kids will learn about sex anyway? And if they learn from any source other than you, you have failled as a parent. Sex is not a taboo
Re: Sexualization Of School Children by Nobody: 5:41pm On Apr 08, 2017
How did YOU (yeah you reading this) get to know about sex? Even in those days when there was nothing like internet, people still got to know about sex and people will ALWAYS get to know about sex. Do you want to protect your kids from not knowing it by locking them in a cage?

If parents don't give their kids sex education then they will DEFINITELY learn it from somewhere else. The key should be educating them about the dangers and ways to protect themselves. That way you are being REALISTIC
Re: Sexualization Of School Children by Zedoo(m): 6:01pm On Apr 08, 2017
Are they talking about books? Ha!

Go to Enugu and see how primary school gurls dress to school....

E go remain small make kittycat dey outside dey look you.

And of course the pervert male teachers go begin dey select right from that age.

Its not only about book writers or what have you...its about parents too....

You got that right 100 %
Let these mumu parents continue to deceive themselves
It's better those kids learn about sex, demystify it so they don't see it as anything special, or something worth experimenting at their age, then your kids will be fine.

If not, you will have yourself to blame

Funny. Coming from a Nigerian in Nigeria. This is a society where it is ok to burn a suspect in the streets. Where it the norm to give and take bribe at will. To dump refuse indiscriminately. Guess what bro, a society where well trained teenagers are groomed do not do these things. Meanwhile, in Germany for instance, they engage in what you would term "indecencies" and yet their society is thriving in leaps and bounds.
In the same country, I know families that have successfully raised godly children.

Condoms protect people from the majority of diseases, why shield people from information?

You will never stop people from having relations so why not teach them how do so in a safe manner?

Even the Catholic Church that forces its priest to swear a vow of celibacy has failed to stop its members from engaging in sexual activity.
You have a point

Life is all about percentages. If the percentage of Godly children were high, Nigeria would not be the cesspit it is today. God my foot. A country where the levels of depravity outweigh and outnumber that of decency.

Sanctimonious hypocrites. As if we did not do the same thing when we were young. Bros, maybe you don't know but teenagers will always do crazy and wild things. It is up to us as parents to control the situation as best we can. All in all, it does not stop one from being successful in life.
Chai!!! Why do you comment without reading?

Of course we did things. But I never saw any in any of my textbooks. Did you? I knew it was BAD. But now it is being glorified. I refuse to throw insults like you just did. But next time try to read before commenting. Take care

Wow!

Shame on our ministry of education and those supporting this demonic policy.

Primary school pupils have no business learning about sexxxxx.

My first academic contact with sexxxx education came when I was in JSS1. And it was just a sentence that went thus: "when the man inserts his peniiiissss into the woman's vaginnnna, millions of sperm are released." That was it.

Next time we would learn about sexxx was when Reproduction was being taught as a subject in SS3 Biology. Even at that, there were no graphic pictures.

oyb and mmsen, you guys should mind yourselves.

Out of over 180million people, you can't but acknowledge that we have godly families. Only Lot was godly in Sodom. Don't be pessimistic please!

This is what I've been saying, in fact that zumji and uchenna ehn we were made to perform the play JSs3

even that chemistry textbook nawa!!!
I didn't know it was contained in all the textbooks I thought it was from a particular retailer or something...

Then the last days at forcados high was the one that baffled me,we were told everyday to stay away from any boy-girl relationship meanwhile the book prescribed for JAMB english was speaking another language grin

What of the Jss3 home econs textbook that has a nude girl at one of the pages all in the name of PUBERTY

or the integrated science textbook that has a nude male in the name of puberty/Adolescence

So you see,b4 we finished secondary school,Students were already using all sorts of "native contraceptives"

The problem is with the parents, most parents don't discuss these things with their kids I don't know whether it's deliberate or they aren't brave enough to have conversations concerning the aforementioned issue Cos this is gradually eating up the younger generation!!!
While I am not for child sexualization, how do you teach puberty effectively without image? As long as it is not a real picture but a drawing, I think it is OK. There is a thin line between sex education and child sexualization and we must draw the line. We should not deceive ourselves, they need to be taught PROPERLY by a responsible adult so that they won't be mislead by their friends. Besides Google answers everybody- child or adult.

Best comment on this topic. Nigeria is where it is because we became hypocrite. When was the last time Ahmed or the op had a matured conversation with his son/daughter about sex? The school's helping you and you're complaining. I know a lot of my friends that got exposed to sex by stumbling on VHS sex tape or magazine by their parents, that's up to 20 years now. I too first started knowing anything about sex when I discovered my father's playboy magazine and sex magazine!!! I learnt sex from the street not from my parents or school. I don't think the school will completely tell a kid to start having sex without understanding it should be between to people that want it and with protection. It could reduce unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted disease!!! If they're adding sexual education in the curriculum then they have the go ahead! Most parents are either to busy or feel it's an abomination to talk about it with their kids, not until their daughters get pregnant or worse get infected by Aids

I swear bro! I got exposed to a lot of things that shouldn't be at a very young age so if the school are teaching them sex education then it's a bold and good step. Most parents especially Nigerians don't have the time and would scold their kids if they ask questions. The best we can do is when our kids come home we ask them questions and try to explain better because they will be other kids or worse perverted teachers who would try to take advantage

Mine was worse when i was in K.G 3 I touched females private part like(I "Fingered"wink if you know what that means, but I didn't do it willingly, someone led me to do it.
What is more shocking is that this kid that led me(partner in crime)

Had seen that act performed b4 to someone, that's how he was able to do the same to someone else!!!
The memory still haunts me!!
If you had older ones or parents that just don't warn you about these things but tells you how it works all these wouldn't have happened. I don't need to tell you what happened after seeing my father's playboy magazine. As a kid then barely 10 I had a lot of female friends that were ready to 'try it out'. This is the best way to protect our kids rather than try and hide it and when they discover it the result could be disastrous! Your kids could pick up your phone and stumble on gay porn and I don't need to tell you how kids like to explore

That's funny but I don't think you can make anyone who isn't already gay want to try gay sex.

For a heterosexual it just isn't appealing.

Why should they not see real images? They are human beings who arrived here by way of sexual activity? Or do you think that Nigeria's population doubles every 25 years because of witchcraft?

About 100 percent of the things we assume right is because society and norm made it so. Remember the stories of those children raised by animals? Some couldn't adapt to society again and died while some ran back to the jungle! Kids would always try things out so nothing stops them from trying gay porn if they stumble on it on the internet

Most people are heterosexual, therefore most the influences that we absorb as children are heterosexual.

But even then, you cannot make someone engage in homosexual activity unless that is their proclivity.

I've had internet access for over 20 years, never once have I ever wanted to watch homosexual porn.

Up until the 80s homosexuality was seen as a mental disorder. You do know they're are homosexual today who are into it just because they want to not because they're not sexually compact able with the opposite sex

I'm sure there is a small number who engage in homosexual activity for peculiar reason but he overwhelming majority do so because that is how their brains are wired.

And yes I'm aware that homosexuality was once seen as a mental disorder.
