it seems ntel has quietly introduced new data packages with outrageous prices. that would explain why the old data plans are being throttled
right left and center.
Sad
I subscribed to the new plan of 60,000 and it's still as useless as the old ones

Mehn, you must be equipped with some kind of alien balls, LOL.

I posted two or three pages ago ain't gonna risk that ish until ntel can guarantee like 10MB/s (~80Mb/s) on it. I added that's not likely to happen, though - at least not anytime soon. I also added that, should things totally come down to it, my own best alternative to ntel at the moment is Glo's 4G 48GB@8k/month plan. (Two/month of that should fetch one a rock-solid 3GB/day, for those into that class of requirement.)

One can come close to that Glo strategy on Smile, but the Smile network reportedly attains less speed compared to Glo.

Good luck to you the rest of your 90-day journey, though.

This Ntel has been useless for past few weeks, at least in Jabi, Abuja. They are throttling Internet speed all day long, you can only unleash the fury of 1.2 mb/s at night...
Has anyone tried GLO in this area? Glo doesn't include Jabi in their covered area on their website... 48gb/8k sounds sweet.

Today's experience pained me ehn.

I don't know what magic happened o, I put on my Mifi and I was getting 2 Mbps for like 1hour.

Only for me to swap Mifi batteries onto say I wan charge o, since then na 60kbps.

It's available in Jabi, with excellent reception at that.

It is.
Before, they throttle d speed i think after 10g/day, but u stil get 400kb-600kb via idm download, browsing n streaming still remains super fast,
But now it seems they "over" throttle d speed, cos u only get 20-30kb on idm, browsing n streaming becomes very slow.
Have you tried a VPN to see if it bypasses the throttling?

They are playing some weird games with vpns.

My VPN refused to download the certificates required to finalize its installation when I was connected to Ntel. It was only when I used another network that it downloaded.

Now, it is a struggle to connect, and the connection is always piss poor.

The worst part of this is, it's my office line...and I'm presently on leave...I don't know what's gonna happen when I resume because I introduced Ntel to them and now that this is happening, I am in hot soup.

So no be only dey 60kbps speed. And I just renewed my subscription. Maybe I should have gone with Spectre net unlimited, at least with them I would have NAT2 not this NAT3ish I am stuck with in Ntel and consistent speed too.

I think we should do a massive social media bombing of these guys and demand 1 month compensation for the frustrating service over the past 3 weeks. Twitter, NL, Facebook etc.

We should totally do that. I have started that yesterday. I saw more complaints on twitter, but they don't really respond..

Despite their poor services, to recharge sef na wahala, Ntel throttles speed i think after using 3g or 6g/day, afterwards It becomes xtremely slow.
That is exactly what is happening! I have noticed it myself also. I think its 3gb and then it goes to 60kb/s max speed.

i am currently at 1.2mb/s, downloadig mass effect [part 8 of 37] and afraid to stop [i need to get out of the house] because i'm sure it will immediately switch to 60kb/s

Since inception, ntel made it clear on its T&C that, on daily basis, after exhaustion of 3GB data, you would be throttled. I guess they finally implemented it. If that is really the case, then subscribers can't complain.

reducing speed from 10mb/s to 1mb/s is throttling

reducing it from 1.4mb/s to 60kb/s is manage us until a better isp comes along

That ntel is bad in your location does not mean ntel is bad everywhere. grin.

They have had there low periods and will still have cos they are growing , just a little over a year...but to me they are still the best by far as am concerned and some of you will truthfully agree with that fact.... compared to those shitty guys that repeatedly zap their so called unlimited data plans even before your eyes with crazy snail connection speed.

It takes time to move human personnel's to the field and have issues sorted at times ... expecting a miracle from a 1 year old baby is just crazy...I mean very crazy. Even MTN 4G (That stole several billions directly from our phone without giving us value, we stayed with them even till today) and shitty Glo 4G (upgraded 3G) are still going to mess up ... cos more people are hitting on them and its only a matter of time ..Wait for it.

Some peps are actually back to former ISP just like a friend of mine but just have to soak in their shame when they met the reality and also how its damn expensive and can produce deep shit for you far more than you can manage or bear while on ntel.

@Stanley08 i saw the mail and was surprised when your later tweeted at them to reward you ... for your mind, you deserve 1G free data baa.

Scrolling through their timeline you will be amazed at how many people did break the 1 terabyte threshold, you are still jogging ... So better enjoy your current plan while it last.

@dustmalik i sincerely appreciate the fact that you said it as it is without mincing words. They came out plain right from the start ... so blaming them for effecting any changes now is just unfairness. They aren't stopping you from going to other network if you feel uncomfortable. And if you feel like moving to spectranet or smile...simply do so without even saying good bye...I can assure you they will be glad cos if you a re an heavy user, your leaving will improve the experience of people close to you using ntel.

In fact the unlimited of a thing was just for 3 months... But mehn this is over 12 months... They gave you the benefit of doubt for 4 Good seasons dependent on when you joined them. Pure play 4G experience is not beans.

I feel 3G/Per day = 90GB/Month even at N15k is just too cheap sincerely.

So rubbish Emptyhen give you 1.5GB at 1k why didn't you stick to their so called fiber lies.

I just feel this is just a simple case of understanding what is on ground and fitting in.

They have a package that's meant for heavy user now, so it would be absurd to be consuming close to 10GB daily and not subscribed to the right bundle plan.

ntel is the most honest to have come out clean right from start... The issue most people forgot they didnt implement it on time.

We hate on people who tell us the truth of course... So keep ranting all you like. I have had my share of ntels ups and down too.

I know they are growing and am willing to grow with them... I will rather even encourage them for helping us destroying the data pricing pyramid.

Long Live ntel.... Long Live Nigeria

Wetin you chop wey your mouth dey sweet. I'm sure you work with Ntel.

As much as it's good to encourage home companies, their bullshit obviously needs to be addressed. If you want to stand out, then deliver what you promise. either 3gb cap or not, I have been stuck with a shity speed since morning. streaming and web pages are trying but Torrent? ma God! I got the device last Saturday and I only enjoyed the so called speed for 3 days, since then, omo na okoro soup.

And to crown their stupidity, they increased tariff! Like who does that in the middle of "crisis"?

Ntel sort your God-forsaken speed out and if this is deliberate, may you crawl also, cos that's what you cause my business these few days I've joined you. It is not a matter of capping 3gb/day. it's just ridiculously & fucking slow sir! PERIOD!

Abeg who get Adobe cc 2017? this company wants to run my business down. customer service sef no dey pick! IF YOU AIN'T READY, DON'T SET OUT AND MAKE PEOPLE GET EXCITED OVER YOUR CALABASH TRASH CAN. ITS GONA COME BACK TO YOU.

Also, who sabi jailbreak the Alcatel device? rubbish!

If it was a daily data cap limit why is it that when I send them a mail complaining about the speed they don't just tell me straight up that I have the limit? Why tell me it's a problem in the network and they trying to resolve it?

I would be more at ease knowing that than having to guess what the hell is going on.

what i can say for certain is that their network is very glitchy

right now i am at 60kb/s

anytime from now, if i restart the modem, i can get 1mb/s, which would last until the modem goes off [say i'm downloading and asleep and nepa, or generator shuts down]. i downloaded close to 10gb between 3am and 8am this morning.

i seriously doubt if ntel will come out and say they have a cap, or admit to throttling, since that is what made its customers leave isps like spectranet in the first place

I TOTALLY disagree. There is no such Terms and Conditions from NTEL. The T&C page is right there on their website for everyone to read, there is no mention of such. During the testing period they put it in, for about a week and immediately people complained and they took it out. I remember contacting them that time to confirm and they told me categorically that clause has been removed and there is no cap or throttling whatsoever.

Even before downloading 10mb in a day, I get ridiculously slow speeds so clearly it is not a matter of daily cap, if it is, they would have said so, in response to the countless complaints on twitter. I have been downloading Prison Break S05E01 for 2 days now. Imagine.
The whole point of using NTEL is, No Cap, No Throttling, not thing else, customers know it and the company knows it
