hancock:
it seems ntel has quietly introduced new data packages with outrageous prices. that would explain why the old data plans are being throttled
right left and center.
Sad
Even the old packages, they have increased the prices. The N1000 plan is now N1500, N3000 plan is now N3750, while the 10k monthly is now N12,500. God forbid say make I pay these prices with the current situation.

reducing speed from 10mb/s to 1mb/s is throttling

reducing it from 1.4mb/s to 60kb/s is manage us until a better isp comes along
cheesy cheesy Savage throttling
Heshei:
I feel 3G/Per day = 90GB/Month even at N15k is just too cheap sincerely.

So rubbish Emptyhen give you 1.5GB at 1k why didn't you stick to their so called fiber lies.

I just feel this is just a simple case of understanding what is on ground and fitting in.

They have a package that's meant for heavy user now, so it would be absurd to be consuming close to 10GB daily and not subscribed to the right bundle plan.

ntel is the most honest to have come out clean right from start... The issue most people forgot they didnt implement it on time.

We hate on people who tell us the truth of course... So keep ranting all you like. I have had my share of ntels ups and down too.

I know they are growing and am willing to grow with them... I will rather even encourage them for helping us destroying the data pricing pyramid.

Long Live ntel.... Long Live Nigeria

#BuyNigeriaGrowTheNaira
With glo, you get 96GB with 16k (8k 48gb twice), but without the hassles and headache. The pic with 0.59mbps is more like the current reality for majority of ntel users. Compare that with MTN below

toluxa1:
I TOTALLY disagree. There is no such Terms and Conditions from NTEL. The T&C page is right there on their website for everyone to read, there is no mention of such. During the testing period they put it in, for about a week and immediately people complained and they took it out. I remember contacting them that time to confirm and they told me categorically that clause has been removed and there is no cap or throttling whatsoever.

Even before downloading 10mb in a day, I get ridiculously slow speeds so clearly it is not a matter of daily cap, if it is, they would have said so, in response to the countless complaints on twitter. I have been downloading Prison Break S05E01 for 2 days now. Imagine.
The whole point of using NTEL is, No Cap, No Throttling, not thing else, customers know it and the company knows it
How large is this file? Sometimes torrent download speed is dependent on seeders and leechers...that may also be a factor here. You can use filestream.me to move the file and then download, at least then your speed wont be dependent on seeders/leechers anymore. Seems the free option is limited to 500mb file size.

Even primary school pupil wouldn't say all this trash...

Just read the comments that follows for post...

So you called 10Mbps LTE, who gave you the weed...??

I subscribed, did a speed test got average of 60kbps..

Your data is unlimited.. but slow ... I checked on their normal data plan, the prices are not even competitive, same speed... So what's your point?

Never compare Ntel's LTE to MTN or Glo
I use MTN, i can tell you MTN has more 4G subscriber now, Speed is still amazing...

See the speed 6MB/s that about 48mbps..
Downloaded 70MB in seconds..

If Ntel could use a post on this thread as a reference to how fast people praise their network, then I would agree that anyone saying Ntel is okay here at this moment is an Ntel staff/spy...

Ntel network is a shit at this moment seriously. angry

Be careful to not allow your plan autorenew

And dont tell them to assist you to renew, do it yourself. In case you are thinking of continuing this suffering.

We made that mistake at my office and they activated another capped plan . Now the data is finished and story don start

Really shocked
So prices of data have been increased across board and ntel didnt deem it fit to communicate same to thier loyal subcribers?
These guys are clowns i swear grin
at least i got a mail, SMS and a call from dstv to announce their planed increment that will be effective form May 1st 2017. Go figure

Abeg make una help me clap for this guy! There are no caps!....
So I restarted my device around 1am and it was blazing fast as expected. The file I needed to complete its download was 6gb, so I was thinking pe "all this ppl wey dey say CAP! CAP, that means the remaining 3gb will be till next day"... But it broke the bounds, I completed my download (6gb) in a very short while. grin grin

Make your customers happy Ntel, and they will sing your praise... in fact, you won't need commercials again grin grin

NB: I ain't switching off my device for any reason (I got a standby Powerbank for am now) cool cool
Re: Subscriber Options for UNLIMITED Internet - WORTH IT? by 4llerbuntu(m): 2:58pm On Apr 11, 2017
They have also introduced "Fair Use Policy"
Which means they now throttle. Unfortunately, no one knows how much is the limit before throttling.

But the example on their fair use page says 2Gb, so maybe that's it.
Anyways, it will be good for them to be transparent and truly disclose their terms on this fair use matter.

anyways, Que Sera Sera. my upper limit for subscription na 10k.
Now They've passed that price point, I can't see find any reason to continue with them. I no fit use am for phone call also so......

I'll split my 10k between Glo and MTN 4G.

if Spectranet wants their old customers back, its time to make the plans from 5k eligible for free Nights.......

Unlimited Plans: If you subscribe to an ntel price plan, service or feature that is described as unlimited, you should be aware that such unlimited plans remain subject to ntel’s Fair Use Policy. If your usage of our unlimited plans is greater than a predefined amount during any 24-hour period (measured from midnight each day), then ntel may at its sole discretion reduce the priority of that user’s mobile broadband data service relative to other users, until midnight of that day. grin

Other than as mentioned above, with respect to peer-to-peer traffic, ntel’s network management practices are agnostic to the content that traverses its network and to the websites that provide that content. Notwithstanding the foregoing, ntel may block outright or reduce the priority of traffic that violates its Fair Use Policy. grin

By extension, Ntel are guilty of fraudulent misrepresentation.why are they spamming customers in boxes with stories of downloading 45gb files if it is their policy to throttle downloads to unusable pre 3g speeds after 3gb?

If I wanted to download COD today, it would probably take 3 to 4 days because of their throttling.

NTEL wasn't straight forward from the beginning.

Example, Smile unlimited data ends at 60gb after which they throttle the speed.

But NTEL won't tell you the amount of data usage before their speed throttling start

Whats is much more annoying is that this throttling is not so much throttling as outrightly bad service.

i cannot do anything with the 60kb/s because it keeps fluctuating. a simple 4mb download becomes a nightmare, and opening webpages . . .

These people are bastards! So they're increasing data plan prices while giving people 60kbs? Dey mad? Abeg, Glo is always an option for me. Feck Ntel.

If you call them now to complain, they'll tell you say na network issue and they're 'trying' to resolve it.
Re: Subscriber Options for UNLIMITED Internet - WORTH IT? by Nobody: 10:11am On Apr 12, 2017
in summary, NTEL's unlimited plan gives you a maximum download speed of 1.2mb/s, which is throttled to an unreliable flaky 60kb/s once you pass an undefined threshold.

if you are able to maintain your connection [never turn off your modem, and there is no signal loss] you can maintain your 1.2mb/s indefinitely.

so na to get dedicated inverter of extended car battery for my modem be that cheesy.

Exactly. I leave my Mifi permanently connected to electricity and immediately NEPA carry light, I connect to my PowerBank which always has juice. I have been doing this since yesterday. Even the 1.2MB/s is low. Same with the nonsense 60kb/s. How on earth does a so called 4G LTE service throttle "unlimited" plan to 60KB/s. This can't even do Instagram comfortably.
