The Nigerian Way Of Being Learned by Raychux23(op):
In Nigeria one can easily notice that for you to prove hw learned u ar, it's simply by hw good u ar in terms of speaking the English language

I hv undrstood dat, one major reason why pple use dis standard as a yardstick to measure ur intellect is because being civilize as a blackman stil boils dwn to hw good u ar in trying to emulate n act like your earthly master(the whiteman) in terms of dressing, behaving, eating, speaking etc.

They are lot of contradiction 2 d Nigerian understanding of being learned, but am nt totally in disagreement to the statement because being intelligent or learned, you stil hv to knw hw to properly construct n use words of the English language fluently.

But my question stil remains.
Why do we Nigerians measure one's intellect by how good u ar in terms of speaking the English language?

Without seeing the four walls of an institution, one normally should not be able to learn how to read or write..
