On the 12th of April 2017, the ex-Niger Delta warlord, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, aka Tompolo, the Ibe-ebidouwei of Ijaw nation birthday was celebrated at the Okue-emi hotel, Warri, Delta state.Various personalities trooped in to celebrate him. Among the personalities were the Pere of Seinbiri kingdom, His Royal Majesty,Charles Ayemi-botu (JP),Prof. Benjamin Okaba,Chief (Prof.) G. G. Darah,Prof. Tosan blessing Harriman,Rt Hon. Julius G. Pondi,member representing Burutu Federal Constituency, Chief Favour Izoukumor, Commissioner Delta State Oil Producing Development Commission (DESOPADEC),Hon. George Ekpemupolo, Chairman, Warri South West Local Government Area,Barr. Eric Omare,President, Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, Worldwide,Ambassador Preye Ekpebide,Gbaramatu Traditional Council of Chiefs and others.

Tompolo is a hero and deserved respect from the niger delta, nigeria is a country who leaders considers tribe more the doing the correct thing. Tribalism is the main consideration when it comes to decision of national interest. if nigerian leaders where to be fare niger delta would have been one of the most developed region in nigeria. i remember during the groundnut era, north where recieving 50% derivation and i even remember when one of the leaders in the north where demanding for resourse control, now it was after many bloodshed and struggle that 13% was aprove for niger delta. is it a sin to be minority in nigeria? Tompolo is a figure when it come to niger delta strugle. if the north can celebrate Abacha, ibb, atiku, abdusalam, and the waste celebrated tinibu who had looted nigeria dry. why woun't niger delta celebrate tompolo who is not a looter but a victim of circumstances from criminals who think they own the oil in the niger delta
