Actually, no. Maybe in the north, yes. But in the South West, people were tired of the massive corruption going on in his government. Massive corruption and indifference to the Book Haram threat. A lot of people knew Buhari might not be able to do magic, after all, it was his Vice that did most of the work in his first coming. If Buhari can succeed on the corruption and security fronts, I'm ok. Maybe the much touted 'Igbo president' to come in 2019 will take care of the economic front with his stereotypical business sense

I still doubt if Christianity is the way to God but I am 500% sure Islam isn't.
A religion that suppresses the fundamental rights of females,
A religion that purposely subjects majority of its followers to poverty and lack of ambition.
A religion that supports violence either actively or passively by turning a blind eye.
The emir wants to enlighten the people and break them from the chains of religious slavery But they want to shut him up using Islam.
Religious bias is our greatest problem in Nigeria.
Deep down in our heart, we all know that Islam is the scourge of the world causing problem everywhere.

LMAO. Even though I'm not happy with this current administration, saying that Buhari hasn't been impeached because of religion made me really laugh out loud. Like seriously??!! How many presidents in this country have ever been impeached? When Boko Haram was taking over territories, among other irregularities in his government, GEJ wasn't even under the threat of impeachment. And you expect Buhari to be impeached. In the north , it was religion and a feeling of " our brother will secure the north" , in the south west, it was pure hated and nothing else. Because they thought he excluded the Yoruba in favor of Igbos. None of the two regions were being rational.

Isn't the point of this discussion the fact that you said people were swayed by religious sentiments to vote GEJ out? Concerning the BH issue, the truth is that Nigerian territories were being lost to terrorists. This greatly undermined Nigeria's sovereignty. Soldiers and civilians were being killed almost everyday. Bomb blasts were normal then. You mentioned that Buhari failed to give his support to fight Boko Haram; which kind of support did you require? To lead the frontline? Remember that Buhari himself was once a victim when his convoy was attacked.

All what I typed above are even besides the point here- the point is that people were not swayed by religious sentiments to vote GEJ out. Check the states both candidates won in 2015- Buhari was always going to win in the NW and the NE while GEJ was always going to win in the SS and SE. The SW and NC were the battlegrounds. And GEJ conveniently won in the SW in 2011. So you can't accuse the SW of voting based on religious sentiments. (Remember that the Southwest isn't populated by a dominant religion, there is equal distribution of both major religions in the SW).

Even with all the evidence of corruption of monumental dimensions being revealed almost 2 yrs after GEJ had left office, you are still here reminiscing on the cause of his election loss. I bet you even Jonathan by now will not be happy with all these new revelations

Having said that, afterall HRM was right in his pointings. All he said were glaring even to the unborn child-North is the problem of Nigeria. Or what do you expect when ur strength in population is replete with non-productive Sapiens who know no other venture than procreation as if that's the only thing we have been sent to do on tge surface of earth?
