Dig until you locate the queen. Kill the queen and that is the end of that anthill. Be ready for battle because the closer you get to the queen's chamber the more aggressive the soldiers are.

Yes O, but that is the only solution. If you like destroy the whole anthill, as long as the queen is alive it will be rebuilt. If you spray solignum it will most likely not get to the queen's chamber so it has to be done the hard way.

If there is no borehole around, there is a certain chemical that will kill every living organism in the soil surrounding the area if you just dig a spot and bury it.

I think ants make the soil more fertile . So long as they don't eat your crops.

It didn't attack the crops,just that it has eaten so deep into the soil. My fear is that,it may continue to dig deep of nothing is done

Have you ever seen an anthill? If it was so easy for water to penetrate will any anthill last more than one rainy season? Anthills are natural wonders. They are built to withstand extreme weather while allowing proper ventilation. They are waterproof so opening a hole and pouring insecticide will only affect those living around the chamber you opened.

What a suggestion. Would you like to eat food that was grown in a soil that's contaminated with the nasty chemicals in used engine oil?

I'm not sure about how that is a problem for you. I think the ants may be the beneficial; feeding on insect pests. Killing them may be risky.
